Job Description – Junior UK Accountant \n Accountancy 4 You Ltd is an established and growing accountancy practice based in Manchester. We work with a varied portfolio of UK businesses and pride ourselves on providing a personal, professional and approachable service to our clients. \n Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Junior UK Accountant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who already has some experience within a UK accountancy practice and is confident working independently and managing their own portfolio of clients. \n Main responsibilities: \n\n • Preparing Year End Accounts for UK Limited Companies\n, • Preparing Corporation Tax computations and CT600 returns\n, • Preparing and reviewing VAT Returns\n, • Preparing Self Assessment Tax Returns\n, • Reviewing bookkeeping and bank reconciliations\n, • Dealing with HMRC and Companies House\n, • Working with Xero and other cloud-based accounting systems\n, • Managing deadlines and your own portfolio of clients\n, • Communicating directly with clients and providing day-to-day accounting support\n, • Supporting and reviewing work completed by junior members of the team\n, • Assisting with general tax and accounting queries\n\n Experience and skills required: \n\n • Minimum 1–3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice\n, • Strong knowledge of UK accounting and taxation\n, • Experience preparing Limited Company accounts and Corporation Tax Returns\n, • Good knowledge of VAT and Self Assessment\n, • Experience using Xero\n, • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines\n, • Strong communication and client-facing skills\n, • Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to work\n, • ACCA/ACA/AAT qualified or part-qualified would be an advantage, although we are happy to consider candidates qualified by experience (QBE)\n\n What we offer: \n\n • Salary £25,000–£32,000 per year, depending on experience\n, • Full-time, permanent position\n, • Manchester-based role with hybrid working\n, • Flexible and supportive working environment\n, • Varied and established client portfolio\n, • Opportunity to progress into a Client Manager position\n, • Ongoing training and professional development\n, • Opportunity to become an important part of a growing practice\n\n Our culture \n We are a friendly, ambitious and supportive team. Financial Controller | Tameside (3 days in office with flex start/finish times) | £75,000 - £85,000 | FMCG \n Axon Moore have partnered with a growing, product-led consumer business who are looking to appoint an ambitious Financial Controller to their team on a full time permanent basis. \n The business has ambitious international growth plans, with overseas turnover expected to double as they enter new territories across Europe. This is a hands-on senior finance role with genuine potential to become future FD. \n Reporting into the senior finance team, you will take ownership of financial accounting, month-end, management reporting, cash flow, treasury, FX and compliance, while acting as a key business partner to the wider organisation. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Act as a trusted finance partner to the wider leadership team.\n, • Translate financial information into clear commercial insight and actionable recommendations.\n, • Build strong relationships across the business and ensure finance is viewed as a value-adding partner rather than simply a reporting function.\n, • Lead the financial accounting function and ensure robust financial controls are maintained across the business\n, • Own the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting\n, • Lead the production of management accounts and financial reporting for senior stakeholders\n, • Lead cash-flow forecasting and provide clear visibility of short and medium-term liquidity\n, • Manage treasury activities and optimise the use of available cash\n, • Manage and mitigate foreign exchange exposure as the business continues to expand internationally\n, • Oversee VAT compliance and ensure all relevant filings and obligations are completed accurately and on time\n, • Support strategic decision-making as the business expands across European markets.\n\n Ideal candidate: \n\n • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)\n, • Prior experience in a stock based business (Retail, Manufacturing, FMCG) is highly advantageous \n, • Experience managing cash flow and working capital is a must\n, • Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed levels, has strong business partnering skills and has ambitions to take the next step towards Finance Director.\n\n For more information please apply to this advert or contact Danny Kay at Axon Moore.
