The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is fundamental to our operations – they’re the ones keeping vital machinery running at all times. Using our state of the art fleet – some powered by natural gas for specific routes and fitted with extra safety technology - our drivers take to the road to deliver and collect products to and from a variety of locations across the UK. Job Responsibilities for the Roadside Technician role Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately. Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes. Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options. Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility. Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed. Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions. What you’ll need to be considered for the Roadside Technician role Must have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
