Audit Senior\nEdinburgh, Scotland\nFull-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)\nOverview\nWe are currently recruiting for an Audit Senior to join our clients Audit & Assurance team in Edinburgh. This is a key role offering the opportunity to lead audit engagements, manage junior staff and work closely with clients across a diverse portfolio.\nThe Role\nAs an Audit Senior, you will take responsibility for leading audit assignments from planning through to completion. You will supervise and support junior team members, ensuring high-quality delivery while maintaining strong client relationships and compliance with UK accounting and auditing standards.\nKey Responsibilities\n * Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion and sign-off\n * Review financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant standards\n * Assess internal controls and identify areas of risk\n * Act as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships\n * Set and monitor audit budgets, managing job progress and addressing variances\n * Plan and coordinate team workflow across audit assignments\n * Supervise, mentor, and develop junior team members\n * Lead audit planning, progress, and completion meetings\nTechnical Responsibilities\n * Apply knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards (including ISA requirements)\n * Interpret and assess group audits and component auditor requirements\n * Evaluate risk independently and design appropriate audit testing\n * Deliver high-quality audits, including first-year engagements\n * Continuously identify improvements to audit quality and efficiency\nAbout You\n * ACA / ACCA / CA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience\n * Proven experience within an accountancy practice audit role\n * Strong technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards\n * Experience leading audits and supervising junior staff\n * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments\n * Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills\n * Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement\nWhat’s on Offer\n * Hybrid and flexible working options\n * Exposure to a broad and complex client portfolio\n * Opportunity to take ownership of audit engagements\n * Supportive and collaborative team environment\n * Clear pathway for career progression\nCareer Development\nThis role offers strong progression opportunities, including:\n * Development into an Assistant Manager / Manager role\n * Increased exposure to complex and group audits\n * Ongoing development of leadership and client management skills\nPlease note that candidates must have the right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available for this role
