The Company Axon Moore is partnering with a fast paced, entrepreneurial consumer business with a global footprint as they look to hire an ambitious and experienced Financial Controller to join the finance team . As the Financial Controller you will lead the UK finance and accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, timely month-end close, and compliance with UK statutory, tax, and regulatory requirement s. Job Title: Financial Control lerSalary: £80,000 – £90,000 + bonus + benef itsLocation: Lon don The R ole: As the Financial Controller you will lead all aspects of UK financial accounting and reporting, including month-end close, statutory reporting, compliance, controls, and audit coordination. Ensure accurate financial reporting under UK GAAP, oversee balance sheet management, cash flow, tax, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities, and strengthen financial controls and processes across the finance func tion. Key Responsibil • ities: Lead UK month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close pro • cesses.Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, journals, accruals, and supporting sch, • edules.Ensure financial reporting complies with accounting standards and internal requir, • ements.Review monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow results, explaining key var, • iances.Own statutory reporting, coordinating with external auditors and tax ad, • visors.Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, Companies House, VAT, corporate tax, and regulatory requir, • ements.Support transfer pricing, intercompany accounting, and cross-border tax matters with the wider ta, • x team.Maintain documentation for audits, tax filings, and compliance r, • eviews.Strengthen financial controls across close, reconciliations, approvals, expenses, inventory, and intercompany ac, • tivity.Support development and implementation of the controls fra, • mework.Drive process standardisation, automation, and documentation across f, • inance.Partner with finance and systems teams on ERP, reporting, and transformation initi, • atives.Support cash forecasting, working capital analysis, and balance sheet mana, • gement.Monitor receivables, payables, inventory, accruals, and other key balance sheet ac, • counts.Partner with Operations and Commercial teams to improve visibility into inventory, costs, customer activity, and perfo, • rmance.Support management reporting, variance analysis, and business comm, • entary.Lead, coach, and develop the financ, • e team.Establish clear roles, responsibilities, deadlines, and accountability across f, • inance.Act as the primary finance contact for accounting, audit, reporting, and controls m, • atters.Build strong relationships with finance leadership, auditors, tax advisors, and key stakeh olders.Person Specifi • cation: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification pr • eferred.Significant experience in financial controllership, accounting, audit, or finance leadershi, • p roles.Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, statutory reporting, VAT, and UK compliance requi, • rements.Experience working in an international business environment pr, • eferred.Experience with ERP systems; enterprise finance platform experience pr, • eferred.Strong understanding of internal controls, month-end close, balance sheet management, and audit pr, • ocesses.Experience within product-based, manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-led businesses pr, • eferred.Strong technical accounting and financial reporting, • skills.Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise effectively, and drive account, • ability.Strong process improvement, • mindset.Collaborative style with the ability to work across geographies and fu nctions.
