Based in the Midlands, the Senior Portfolio Manager – Private Equity will play a key role within the Private Markets team, supporting the Investment Director – Private Equity in the management, development and oversight of LGPS Central’s Private Equity portfolios. The role focuses on origination, due diligence, execution and ongoing management of Private Equity fund commitments and co investments, alongside oversight of existing internally and externally managed portfolios. You will contribute to the evolution of Private Equity strategy, ensure robust decision making, and deliver strong outcomes for Partner Funds within a regulated, responsible investment framework. This role is a Certified role under the Senior Manager’s Certification Regime and will be subject to Fitness and Propriety assessments and other applicable regulatory requirements. What you will do: • Assist in the management and oversight of LGPS Central’s Private Equity portfolios, ensuring alignment with Partner Fund objectives., • Originate, analyse and execute Private Equity investments, including primary fund commitments, secondary transactions and co investments., • Lead and support detailed due diligence processes, including commercial, financial, legal, ESG and risk assessments, working closely with internal teams and external advisers., • Present investment opportunities and portfolio updates to the Investment Committee and Private Markets Investment Committee., • Support the development and delivery of Private Equity strategies, keeping approaches under review in light of market developments, regulatory change and Partner Fund requirements., • Actively support the integration of Responsible Investment and ESG considerations into all stages of the investment process, working closely with the Responsible Investment and Stewardship team., • Monitor portfolio performance and risk, ensuring investments are managed in line with the Prospectus, Investment Management Agreements and the Risk and Compliance Framework., • Represent LGPS Central on Limited Partner Advisory Committees where appropriate., • Contribute to the development of new fund structures and internally managed vehicles as the Private Equity platform evolves., • Act as an ambassador for LGPS Central within the investment community, including engagement with Partner Funds, managers and industry forums., • Champion a high performing, collaborative and research driven investment culture across the Private Markets team., • Line manage and develop junior members of the Private Equity team, supporting capability, succession planning and professional development. Requirements • Experience of collaborative investment decision making and portfolio management at a senior level., • Demonstrates and can articulate portfolio construction and investment selection skills., • Can evaluate performance and risk of investment portfolios objectively., • Experience of management and oversight of internal and external investment portfolios across multiple asset classes., • Has successfully built, run, and developed high performing investment teams., • Market acknowledged leader and subject matter expert in asset class, • High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas. Qualifications • CFA or equivalent qualification/ relevant investment experience., • Preferably degree level or equivalent in relevant discipline, • Has or can meet all the requirements of being an FCA approved person What do we offer?
