Verification Lead I am seeking an experienced Verification Lead to take ownership of ASIC/SoC verification activities and act as the primary technical interface with third-party customers. This dual-role position requires both deep verification expertise and strong customer communication skills. You will lead verification planning and execution, manage a small verification team, and ensure that customer requirements are accurately captured, understood, and delivered. You will join a fast-growing start-up who are now publicly listed as they build the first space-based cellular broadband network designed to be accessible directly by standard mobile phones. They are a fast-growing, innovation-driven team working at the forefront of telecommunications and space technology, tackling complex engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities Verification Leadership • Define and own the verification strategy, methodology, and test plans for complex ASIC/SoC designs., • Lead day-to-day verification activities across internal and outsourced teams, ensuring milestones are met., • Drive the development of verification environments, testbenches, and coverage metrics using SystemVerilog/UVM or equivalent., • Review and sign off verification deliverables, ensuring alignment with specifications and design intent., • Manage bug tracking, triage, and resolution processes., • Ensure verification quality metrics and KPIs are achieved. Customer Communication & Liaison • Act as the primary technical contact for assigned third-party customers throughout the project lifecycle., • Participate in requirements capture, specification reviews, and technical workshops with customers., • Provide regular verification progress updates, issue tracking reports, and technical presentations to customers., • Coordinate and document customer feedback, ensuring it is clearly communicated to internal teams., • Manage expectations on delivery schedules, scope, and verification outcomes. Collaboration & Process Improvement • Work closely with design, architecture, and physical implementation teams to ensure smooth handover and alignment., • Liaise with program/project managers to integrate verification milestones into overall project plans., • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance verification efficiency and quality., • Mentor and support junior verification engineers in technical and professional development. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field., • 8+ years’ ASIC/SoC digital verification experience, with at least 3 years in a lead role., • Proven experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, and industry-standard verification tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor/Siemens)., • Solid understanding of RTL design, low-power design techniques, and verification methodologies., • Experience working directly with external customers, including requirement clarification and technical issue resolution., • Strong understanding of project management principles in an engineering context. Please note you must have UK working rights. On offer is a base salary + RSUs. Ideally you will be based in Edinburgh but there could be an opportunity to work out of the South and make the occasional trips to the Edinburgh UK HQ.
