Location: Remote/ Head Office - flexible Engagement: Part-time / Contract Specialism: Special Educational Needs (SEN Leadership & Quality Assurance) Salary: Negotiable - to be discussed at interview Role Purpose We are a specialist SEN education organisation working exclusively with neurodiverse children and young people. The Senior SEN Lead role exists to provide strategic oversight, senior professional judgement, and quality assurance across all SEN provision within SENbrook. This role requires significant, demonstrable SEN expertise and is not suitable for general education professionals without senior SEN experience. Applications without clear senior SEN experience will not be progressed. Core Responsibilities Provide strategic oversight and quality assurance for SEN provision across the organisation Set, maintain, and uphold clear standards for SEN support Act as a senior escalation point for complex or high-need learner profiles Provide senior oversight and final approval of tutor suitability following recruitment screening Review tutor CVs, experience, and SEN backgrounds to ensure alignment with SENbrook standards Participate in senior-level interviews where required Ensure consistent, ethical, and well-documented SEN decision-making Provide internal guidance on SEN boundaries, suitability, and professional practice Advise leadership on SEN-related policies, processes, and documentation Work closely with operations and onboarding teams to ensure clarity and accountability Safeguarding & Professional Standards Safeguarding is central to this role. The Senior SEN Lead is required to: Promote and uphold SENbrooks safeguarding policies at all times Maintain clear boundaries between SEN guidance, safeguarding, and operational delivery Work alongside safeguarding leads without conducting investigations Ensure SEN-related decisions prioritise child welfare and professional integrity Operate with discretion, confidentiality, and ethical judgement at all times Essential Requirements (Non-Negotiable) All applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. SEN Experience (Mandatory) Extensive experience working within Special Educational Needs provision Senior-level SEN experience, with strong preference for leadership, advisory, or oversight roles Demonstrable experience supporting complex or higher-need SEN profiles Strong understanding of SEN best practice, ethical boundaries, and proportional support Proven ability to make defensible professional judgements in SEN-related decision-making 2.
