    We are seeking a qualified and compassionate professional to provide one-to-one support for Jack , a 32-year-old autistic man with limited communication. Jack is calm, gentle, and eager to connect with the world around him. Your role will be to use his passion for food and weekly grocery shopping to stimulate language development and deepen his understanding of everyday life. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a meaningful difference in Jack ’s communication, confidence, and overall quality of life. Who We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who is not only qualified but also expressive, calm, and creative. You should be driven by seeing progress in others and capable of building trust and engagement through patience and positive reinforcement. You will be instrumental in designing and delivering a developmental plan that aligns with Jack ’s interests and needs, particularly around his weekly food shopping trips. Key Responsibilities • Use the weekly shopping as a structured activity to encourage language development and cognitive engagement., • Interact with Jack in a way that supports communication, understanding, and independence., • Create a tailored development plan focused on speech, understanding, and interaction., • Use positive praise to reinforce good behaviour and engagement., • Observe and respond to Jack ’s verbal and nonverbal communication., • Record progress and, where appropriate, use video feedback for learning and coaching., • Maintain a calm and consistent approach, always showing empathy and patience., • Inspire and motivate through your own passions and interests. Qualifications A professional qualification in one of the following or have experience • Speech and Language Therapy, • Educational Psychology, • Clinical Psychology (Teacher or Practitioner), • Other relevant qualifications and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Essential Skills and Attributes • Experience working with individuals with autism or learning differences, • Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box, • Excellent time management and organisational skills, • A strong sense of consistency and reliability, • Enthusiastic and energetic personality with a genuine love of helping others grow, • Good observational skills, including interpreting nonverbal cues, • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn and adapt, • Full driving licence and own vehicle with fully comprehensive insurance
