This is a great opportunity for a logistics professional who enjoys managing complex shipments, working with customers and overseas partners, and taking ownership from start to finish. \n Import & Export Freight Forwarder - The Rewards \n\n • Competitive salary\n, • Company pension\n, • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays\n, • Office-based role in Felixstowe\n, • Opportunity to work within a fast-moving international logistics environment\n, • Scope to develop your skills and take ownership of key customer accounts\n\n Import & Export Freight Forwarder - Requirements \n\n • 5+ years' experience within freight forwarding, shipping, logistics, or supply chain\n, • Strong import and export experience, ideally with sea freight\n, • Good knowledge of UK and international customs procedures\n, • Experience with export declarations, CDS entries, Carnets, and customs documentation\n, • Good understanding of Incoterms and international shipping regulations\n, • Dangerous Goods awareness\n, • Experience using freight management systems; Multi Freight experience would be advantageous\n, • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail\n, • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with customers, carriers, agents, and suppliers\n, • Commercially aware with experience handling quotations, rates, and margins\n\n Import & Export Freight Forwarder - Responsibilities \n\n • Manage import and export shipments from start to finish across sea, road, air, and multimodal transport\n, • Manage key customer accounts and build strong, long-term relationships\n, • Coordinate customs documentation, declarations, tariff classifications, and duty requirements\n, • Liaise with shipping lines, carriers, overseas agents, and customers to ensure smooth shipment movements\n, • Provide guidance on Incoterms, customs requirements, and international shipping regulations\n, • Prepare quotations, negotiate rates, and support commercial pricing decisions\n, • Resolve shipment delays, exceptions, disputes, and operational issues\n, • Maintain accurate shipment and financial records within the freight management system\n, • Ensure all shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly, and within agreed service levels\n, • Identify opportunities to improve processes, customer service, and operational performance\n\n About Us \n Detail2Recruitment acts as an employment agency in respect of this position.
