Fire Alarm Engineer (Commissioning & Installation) Full-time, Permanent About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to oversee the commissioning and installation of fire alarm systems as part of planned works. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, quality, and efficiency across multiple projects within the social housing sector. The successful candidate will provide leadership and technical expertise to a team of engineers, ensuring all works are carried out to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of commissioning and installation engineers., • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of fire alarm systems, ensuring full compliance with BS5839 and industry standards., • Plan, allocate, and monitor workload to ensure timely project completion., • Conduct quality assurance checks, ensuring work meets company and regulatory requirements., • Provide technical support and guidance to engineers on-site., • Liaise with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery., • Maintain accurate documentation and reports for all completed work., • Identify and troubleshoot any issues during installation and commissioning phases., • Ensure health and safety protocols are strictly followed on all sites. Essential Requirements: • FIA or equivalent fire alarm system qualifications., • Extensive experience in fire alarm system installation and commissioning., • Strong knowledge of Advanced Systems and Apollo equipment., • Experience leading a team of engineers in a similar role., • Up-to-date knowledge of BS5839 and other relevant fire safety regulations., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications., • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail., • Excellent communication and leadership skills., • Full UK driving license. Desirable: • FIA or equivalent fire alarm system qualifications., • Electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations)., • Experience in social housing projects.
