My client in the West Midlands are seeking an experienced Interim Environmental Protection Officer to support the Environmental Health team with domestic complaints work. Key Responsibilities • Manage a caseload of domestic environmental health complaints, including statutory nuisance investigations relating to noise, smoke, odour, and other residential issues., • Conduct site visits, investigations, and evidence gathering in line with relevant legislation and council procedures., • Prepare clear, robust written correspondence, case notes, and formal notices where required., • Liaise professionally with residents, landlords, housing providers, and internal departments., • Provide timely case progression and resolutions, ensuring good customer service throughout. Key Requirements • Previous experience working as an Environmental Protection / Environmental Health Officer within a local authority setting., • Strong working knowledge of statutory nuisance legislation and domestic complaint handling., • Ability to manage cases autonomously and work to deadlines., • Excellent communication and report‑writing skills., • Competent IT skills and experience using environmental health case management systems (desirable)
