Auction House Porter/trainee cataloguer- based in Kings Langley, WD4 8FR, Herts Excalibur Auctions is a modern auction house specialising in the sale of collectables, including vintage toys, model railways, comics, and movie and music memorabilia. We are recruiting for an Auction House Porter/Trainee cataloguer, experience not essential as we are happy to train the right person. We are looking for a proactive and organised individual to join our small team of auction specialists and porters. This is a hands-on, physical, full-time position, including some weekends and evenings, as well as working at our off-site storage facility. It is ideal for someone who thrives on independence, has a strong initiative and pays close attention to detail. Duties: · Recording incoming stock · Arranging lots for photography and photographing items ready to be advertised for the auctions · Keep the auction room/warehouse clean and tidy, recycling or clearing away boxes and packaging · Setting up the auction room ready for auction day · Collecting items from clients, loading and unloading vehicles · Answering customer questions in person and on the phone · Helping customers with collecting their items and assisting them with loading them into their vehicles · Assisting the packing team with picking items for packing, and packing items for dispatch Essential: · Good interpersonal skills · Basic computer skills · Eye for detail · Organised · Full UK driving licence The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job and will frequently be required to move heavy items and work on their feet for long periods of time. Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical IT Quality and Testing Professional to join our IT team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through the design and execution of test plans, identification of bugs, and collaboration with development teams to resolve issues. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, an eye for detail, and a solid understanding of software testing methodologies. Key Responsibilities: Develop, document, and execute detailed test cases, test scripts, and test plans for various software applications. Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure quality is built into the development process. Identify, log, and track defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla). Conduct root cause analysis of defects and recommend solutions or preventative steps. Participate in sprint planning and reviews within Agile or other SDLC frameworks. Design and implement automated testing solutions (if applicable). Maintain documentation of testing processes and quality metrics. Support the release process through validation of build readiness and deployment testing. Computer Games Testing: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in software quality assurance and testing. Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with both manual and automated testing techniques. Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, LoadRunner, or similar. Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
