We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Summer School Student Welfare Lead to oversee the pastoral care and wellbeing of students attending residential programs in Cambridge during Summer 2026. Many students will be away from home for the first time, and the Student Welfare Lead will ensure they receive guidance, support, and care throughout their stay. This fully residential role requires overnight presence in Cambridge. You will lead the welfare team, work closely with the Program Director, and maintain communication with parents, medical professionals, and other external parties. The Student Welfare Lead ensures a safe, supportive, and positive environment for all students. Key Responsibilities • Monitor student wellbeing, medical information, and pre-existing conditions, liaising with parents or guardians as needed, • Manage incidents, illnesses, or injuries, following procedures and reporting to the Program Director, • Lead and support the welfare team to deliver effective, calm, and systematic pastoral care, • Ensure staff compliance with safeguarding and welfare policies, • Maintain communication with parents, medical professionals, and external parties, • Uphold organisational values, protocols, and procedures Skills & Experience • Empathetic, approachable, and articulate, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, • Supportive leadership that inspires confidence, • High energy, resilience, and adaptability, • Experience working with young people (essential), • Pastoral, mentoring, or welfare experience (essential) Applicants may apply for one, two, or all of the following periods: • 3 July – 18 July 2026, • 17 July – 1 August 2026, • 24 July – 8 August 2026 How to Apply Submit your CV and covering email outlining your availability.
