Logistics Health & Safety Manager\n\nMicheldever Group is seeking an experienced and dedicated Logistics Health & Safety Manager to join our Logistics Operations team. Reporting to the Head of Logistics Operations and working in close partnership with the Head of SHEQ, you will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation, whilst continuously strengthening a positive and proactive safety culture across our logistics and warehouse network.\n\nThis is a hands-on, high-impact role in which you will collaborate with Regional and Area Managers, Warehouse Site Managers, and Logistics Administrators to manage day-to-day Health & Safety activity, lead improvements, and support operational excellence across our UK-wide operations.\n\nRole & Responsibilities\n\nAs Logistics Health & Safety Manager, you will develop and enhance our existing Logistics Health & Safety framework, support the implementation and maintenance of Group-wide policies and management systems, and take ownership of managing all incidents, accidents, and near misses, maintaining accurate records and producing timely management reports for the Logistics Team.\n\nYou are a seasoned Health & Safety professional who combines strong technical knowledge with a collaborative, business-partnering approach. You are equally comfortable advising senior leadership and supporting frontline operational colleagues. You bring integrity, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement and safe working practices.\n\nYour Responsibilities:\n\nHealth & Safety Compliance\n\n * \n\n Implement and maintain the overarching Group Health & Safety Policy and Management System, participating in the annual review process\n\n * \n\n Act as the competent Health & Safety advisor to Logistics, providing objective, specialist guidance that facilitates safe and efficient operations\n\n * \n\n Set and maintain the right culture to enable collaboration and continuous improvement of Health & Safety across all locations\n\n * \n\n Support operational colleagues at all levels in implementing safe working practices, meeting legislative and regulatory requirements, and adhering to internal policy\n\n * \n\n Maintain a thorough and up-to-date working knowledge of all HSE requirements, providing monthly recommendations to the Logistics Team\n\n * \n\n Undertake operational risk assessments and work with process owners to reduce risk and deliver compliant working practices\n\n * \n\n Ensure all locations have comprehensive Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and Risk Assessments (RA), reviewing and evaluating these at least annually\n\nInternal Control\n\n * \n\n Develop and implement regular Health & Safety site assessments in conjunction with the Head of SHEQ, monitoring results and completing remedial actions\n\n * \n\n Devise and deliver annual Health & Safety training plans, including Toolbox Talks, taking into account legislative change, trend analysis, and evolving working practices\n\n * \n\n Manage all Logistics accidents, near misses, hazards, and RIDDOR incidents, conducting root cause investigations and reporting findings to the Head of Logistics Operations and Senior Leadership Team\n\n * \n\n Produce monthly and annual Health & Safety management information reports, including incident and near miss reporting\n\n * \n\n Undertake site inspections and audits alongside the Group external audit programme, ensuring remedial actions are completed and improvements embedded\n\n * \n\n Maintain all statutory records, documents, systems, policies, and procedures to the required standard\n\n * \n\n Ensure each location manager understands their responsibilities and receives appropriate training to fulfil them\n\nOperational Excellence\n\nDemonstrate consistent professionalism across all areas of the role and in all interactions with the business and third parties\n\nProduce high-quality, accurate documents and reports to the required standard and within agreed deadlines\n\nManage time effectively to ensure all deliverables are met\n\nRespond to requests and instructions from management in a timely and proactive manner\n\nDemonstrate a commitment to self-development and the delivery of a high-quality service\n\nMaintain training logs in conjunction with the Logistics Administrator, working with the Logistics Management Team to enhance existing training structures\n\nCandidate Profile\n\nEssential:\n\nSubstantial experience in a Health & Safety management role, with a proven track record of developing control frameworks and management systems\n\nExperience of working with the HSE, local authorities, and managing Primary Authority relationships\n\nExperience of working within a large supply chain organisation\n\nProven experience in incident and accident investigation\n\nExperience of implementing and managing compliance with equipment regulations including LOLER, COSHH, and PUWER\n\nSubstantial experience of devising and delivering Health & Safety training programmes\n\nThorough understanding of the Health & Safety legal framework and risk management systems\n\nStrong IT skills, particularly MS Office\n\nAbility to communicate effectively and appropriately across all levels of the business\n\nA business-partnering approach with the ability to work collaboratively towards shared goals\n\nHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and a positive, can-do attitude\n\nNEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification\n\nPrevious experience working directly within a logistics or warehouse environment\n\nWorking Pattern & Location\n\nRemote (UK-wide) with regular travel to logistics sites, Midlands-based candidate is preferred, however applications from across the UK will be considered.\n\nAbout Our Company\n\nMicheldever Tyre Services (MTS) was founded in 1972 as a part-time venture providing car servicing and tyres.
