Project Manager – Subsea Cable Installation Projects Location: London-Based Hybrid Role | Global Travel Involved Telcomarine are supporting our client, a London-based subsea cable installation company, in the search for a Project Manager to oversee the delivery of international telecoms infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of complex subsea system installations — coordinating engineering, supply chain, design, and field execution to ensure successful delivery on time and within budget. The work is varied and multi-disciplinary, involving technical oversight of both marine and terrestrial operations, vendor management, and client-facing project leadership. You’ll act as the key liaison between the client and external partners, ensuring smooth collaboration across teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders. What You’ll Be Responsible For Team Management & Quality Oversight • Lead internal teams, contractors, and external consultants across all project phases, • Maintain quality assurance records including test plans, qualification protocols, and inspection logs, • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards on-site and offshore, • Monitor project expenditure and compare against budget forecasts, ensuring financial control throughout Onsite Delivery & Field Operations • Coordinate project staffing, equipment, and resource allocation from kickoff to completion, • Schedule and oversee installation activities (land-based and marine), ensuring deadlines are met, • Manage permit acquisition processes and liaise with relevant authorities and stakeholders, • Supervise subcontractor operations and act as the primary contact for third-party project leads Supply Chain & Technical Input • Work with engineering and system design teams to finalise technical project specifications, • Engage with vendors and suppliers to secure critical materials and services, • Track inventory and logistics timelines to anticipate supply risks and prevent delays, • Support procurement by contributing to contract negotiations and vendor selection Project Planning & Stakeholder Coordination • Build and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource schedules using MS Project, • Track and report on budget progress, risks, milestones, and action items, • Oversee documentation control and structured reporting to both internal and client-side stakeholders, • Host and lead coordination meetings, proactively resolving issues and aligning delivery partners Candidate Profile • Background in managing subsea cable projects or similar marine infrastructure initiatives, • Solid grasp of project planning tools and processes (MS Project, PMP or equivalent preferred), • Technically conversant in fibre optic cable systems, installation operations, and related technology, • Comfortable managing external partners and high-stakes client relationships, • Strong communication and coordination abilities, • Flexible to travel globally as required, • Must have the right to work in the UK, • Must be London-based (or close enough to commute) Think you could the the right fit?
