Pensions Administrator \n SSCL Defence - Glasgow, G2 8EX \n £13.45 per hour \n ASAP Start Date - Subject to clearance \n End Date/Duration - 12 months \n Monday - Friday \n Flexible Workings Hours between 7am - 7pm \n Fully Onsite Role Overview \n We are seeking an experienced Financial Administration Assistant to join our team. This is a fully administrative role and is ideally suited to candidates with recent experience in a financial services, pensions, banking, insurance, payroll, or accounts administration environment. \n The successful candidate will be responsible for processing financial and pension-related transactions, maintaining accurate records, performing calculations, handling customer queries, and ensuring all work is completed in line with strict procedures and regulatory requirements. \n Please note: This is not a customer-facing sales role or a general office support position. Applicants must be able to demonstrate recent administrative experience within a financial, pensions, payroll, banking, insurance, or similar regulated environment. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Process financial and pension-related transactions in line with agreed procedures, business rules, and scheme regulations.\n, • Produce, analyse, and verify pension and financial calculations with a high degree of accuracy.\n, • Maintain accurate records and update information across internal systems and databases.\n, • Respond to customer queries via telephone, email, and written correspondence.\n, • Investigate and resolve routine queries, escalating complex issues where appropriate.\n, • Schedule and prioritise workloads to ensure service levels and deadlines are achieved.\n, • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to obtain and verify information.\n, • Prepare, collate, and check documentation relating to pension and financial administration activities.\n, • Produce correspondence, reports, invoices, and other administrative documentation as required.\n, • Support audit activities by maintaining accurate and compliant records.\n, • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation where appropriate.\n, • Provide additional administrative support to managers and the wider team as required.\n, • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with regulatory, compliance, and company standards.\n\n Essential Requirements \n Applicants must have: \n\n • Recent administration experience within a financial services, pensions, payroll, banking, insurance, accounts, or other regulated financial environment.\n, • Proven experience processing high volumes of administrative work accurately.\n, • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.\n, • Strong numerical and analytical skills.\n, • Experience working with databases, case management systems, or financial administration systems.\n, • The ability to interpret and follow detailed procedures and policies.\n, • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.\n, • Strong written and verbal communication skills.\n, • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.\n, • A professional approach to customer service and stakeholder interactions.\n, • The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately.\n\n Desirable Skills \n\n • Previous experience within pensions administration.\n, • Experience producing or checking complex financial calculations.\n, • Knowledge of financial services regulations and compliance requirements.\n, • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.\n, • Experience working within a target-driven or service-level agreement (SLA) environment.\n\n Important Information \n This is a specialist administration position.
