Outreach Tutor\n\n * \n\n £26-£40 per hour\n\n * \n\n Flexible working hours\n\n * \n\n Sessions take place within Term Time only\n\n * \n\n An extensive CPD programme that is COMPLETELY FREE\n\n * \n\n It's cheesy - but we do Tutor of the week\n\n * \n\n Flexible & creative approach to education that puts pupils first!\n\n * \n\n Support given by a team of experienced educators\n\nIf you are a passionate, patient and creative Teacher, tutor, or TA with experience in adapting and supporting learners to overcome barriers, What are you waiting for? We want to hear from you!\n\nAs an outreach Tutor for Chalkline, you would be considered an "agency worker", and although we don't guarantee any number of hours per week, we work differently from most agencies out there to lower the possibility of any tutor's hours dropping below what they need.\n\nThere is no need to register as self-employed, but if you prefer to do it that way, we can still work with you.\n\nSession Delivery:\n\nWhen we get a new referral, we call you - you choose if you become that young person's Tutor - but they do need consistency & routine, so stick with them! We are not looking for a typical school approach flooded with worksheets and ticking boxes, rather we want tutors that can make sessions fun and engaging with lots of embedded learning in a way that works for them!\n\nMost of the pupils we work with need support with Maths and English, in a way that is adaptable to their needs, engaging and fun! As a Tutor, you can be creative with the sessions/activities covered (supported by the team) and be flexible in your approach to find a way that works for your pupil(s).\n\n Sessions are in-person and on a 1:1 basis or small groups of up to 4 Pupils\n\nTime & Location:\n\nOur sessions are often requested by schools, so they take place during term time, and would typically take place no earlier than 08:30 and no later than 16:30. The location of your sessions would be dependent on each individual assignment/pupil. Sessions may take place at a school, in a pupil's home (or residential care home), or at an agreed public venue like a Library or family centre.\n\nPupils:\n\nWe work with a range of pupils with varying needs. Most pupils we work with are 11-16 years old, and many of our pupils aren’t at age-related working levels, so they may need a nurturing, adaptive approach. They may be either children in care, children with special educational needs, or just in need of additional support to boost their expected attainment. There are a wide range of reasons why sessions are requested, including emotionally based school absences, family circumstances, relocation, school not being able to meet needs, and more.\n\nResources:\n\nYou will have access to a catalogue of internal resources & printables, as well as access to material from resource/learning platforms like Twinkl and BKSB.\n\nIf you do ever need to deliver sessions online as part of a request, you will also be supported with MS Teams, Google Meet or Bramble Tutoring; however, these requests are rare.\n\nHours & Pay:\n\nAs an agency worker, you would be paid for each hour of tutoring delivered.\n\nEach assignment would be discussed and agreed upon before sessions begin (including location, rate of pay, resources, days/times etc.)\n\nThe aim is for Tutors to take assignments within a reasonable distance of home that match their skills and experience. We may offer a higher hourly rate for the given assignment based on a number of contributing factors like location, pupil needs/working levels etc.\n\n * \n\n 1:1 sessions have a standard rate of £26 per hour, increasing up to £30 depending on the assignment specifics\n\n * \n\n Small Group sessions (maximum of 4 people) have a standard rate of £30 per hour, increasing up to £40 depending on the assignment specifics\n\nReporting:\n\nYou will need to complete a timesheet and a detailed report for each pupil by Friday every week. Key documents are shared via Google Drive on your own individual Chalkline Email address (don’t worry, full training will be given).\n\nHere's an example of how a typical assignment works:\n\n * \n\n We discuss the details of sessions for a pupil in need of support\n\n * \n\n You contact the parent/carer/school to introduce yourself and set up a session schedule\n\n * \n\n You agree on days/times in line with the request\n\n * \n\n You deliver sessions in the given subjects (Maths/English) every subsequent week on the same days/times until support is no longer required for that pupil\n\n * \n\n Each week, you submit a timesheet detailing the sessions you completed, and a weekly report of what has taken place in each session, as well as targets to measure the progress made\n\nNote - if you are self-employed, you also send in an invoice at the end of the week. If not, you only need to send the timesheet and report\n\n * \n\n If you have more availability, you can take on additional pupils outside of your current assignment\n\n * \n\n You complete each week, and you are paid the following week\n\nWhat are you waiting for?
