Production Controller Location: South Yorkshire / Sheffield area Salary: £28,000 - £30,800 DOE An established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Production Controller to join its Operations team. This is a pivotal role focused on production performance, schedule adherence, and data-driven decision-making within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring production plans are achieved, operational risks are identified early, and accurate reporting supports effective operational control. Key Responsibilities • Monitor and control production performance using ERP/MES systems, • Produce daily production reports and dashboards (adherence to plan, productivity, delays), • Support daily production and operational review meetings with accurate and timely data, • Identify and escalate production risks, including material shortages, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints, • Coordinate and update daily and weekly production schedules in response to real-time conditions, • Escalate issues to management with clear impact analysis and recommendations, • Work closely with Production, Stores, Procurement, Quality, Maintenance, and Finance teams, • Control and manage Work in Progress (WIP) levels, • Act as the Operations ERP “Super User”, ensuring data integrity and governance, • Analyse performance trends and support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise flow and reduce waste Skills, Experience & Knowledge • Experience using ERP/MES systems in a manufacturing or production environment, • Previous experience in production control, planning, or scheduling, • Strong data analysis skills with experience building reports and dashboards, • Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Power BI and/or SQL, • Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings, • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently, • Experience within aerospace or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment, • Highly organised and detail-focused, • Reliable, conscientious, and consistent in delivery, • Confident communicator with a collaborative approach, • Flexible and adaptable with a positive, can-do attitude, • Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement What’s on Offer • A key operational role within a well-established manufacturing business, • Opportunity to influence production performance and operational improvements, • Exposure to cross-functional teams within a dynamic environment, • Competitive salary and benefits package, • Westfield Health and Rewards, • Pension (employee 3% and employer 6%), • 35 days annual holiday, • On site parking, • Company sick pay, • Appointment allowance
