At Abbey Logistics, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Officer to join our Payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and delivering excellent support to employees across the business. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring weekly and monthly payrolls are processed accurately and on time, while providing first-class support for employee payroll queries via phone and email. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll legislation and procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure. Key Responsibilities • Process weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and within deadlines, • Maintain payroll systems and employee records, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date, • Calculate and input payroll data including wages, deductions, overtime, pensions, and statutory payments, • Respond to employee payroll queries relating to pay, deductions, attendance, and timesheets, • Ensure compliance with payroll policies, HMRC requirements, PAYE, NIC, pensions, CSA, and attachment of earnings regulations, • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner, • Produce and maintain accurate payroll records and reports, • Handle confidential payroll information with discretion and professionalism, • Support the Payroll Manager with general payroll administration and process improvements What We’re Looking For Essential Skills & Experience • Minimum of 2 years’ payroll experience, • Good knowledge of payroll legislation, pension regulations, and HMRC reporting requirements, • Experience using payroll systems, • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate Excel knowledge, • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks Why Join Abbey Logistics? • Be part of a well-established and growing logistics business, • Opportunity to develop your payroll knowledge and career, • Competitive salary and benefits package, • Salary up to £35,000 per annum, • Monday - Friday, • Location : Lowton Closing date for applications 1st June 2026 If you are an experienced payroll professional looking for your next opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
