Mechanical and/or Electrical Maintenance Engineer IMPORTANT: When applying for this role, please email your CV and covering letter directly to 📍Southampton 💷 £16.07 – £20.88 per hour (depending on experience) 🕒 Full-time | Permanent | 4 on / 4 off (days & nights) The Role We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical and/or Electrical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving, and keeping production running smoothly. You’ll be someone who’s confident working with industrial machinery, happy to work shifts, and keen to be part of a close-knit engineering team in a well-established manufacturing environment. Whether your background is mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical, if you’re proactive, reliable, and technically curious, we’d love to hear from you. As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving a range of automated manufacturing equipment. Following a short but thorough induction, you’ll be expected to work confidently and independently while collaborating closely with the wider engineering and production teams. What We’re Looking For • Level 3 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related industrial maintenance discipline, • Computer literacy and good mathematical skills, • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation, • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, • Good communication skills and a team-player mindset, • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision, • Willingness to work a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, alternating days and nights (12-hour shifts), • 1–2 years’ experience in industrial maintenance or a similar environment, • 18th Edition qualification, • Experience with control systems, automation, and electrical/mechanical fault finding, • Previous exposure to:, • Blown film extrusion lines, • Flexographic printing presses, • Slitting machines, • Automation and/or robotics systems Working Hours • Initial period (training & assessment): Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm Full-time, Permanent role Benefits • £50 weekly shift attendance bonus (conditions apply), • 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, • Additional holiday: 1 extra day per year of service (up to 5 days max), • Health Cashback Plan (dental, optical, prescriptions, health screening & wellbeing – T&Cs apply), • Gym membership discounts, • 8 hours’ extra pay on your birthday 🎉, • Free in-house meal voucher on your birthday, • Subsidised on-site catering, • Free uniform and laundry service, • Company pension scheme (NEST contributory), • Free on-site parking, • Overtime paid at 20% above base rate (conditions apply) About SIVA Group We are a family-owned flexible packaging manufacturer based in Southampton, with over 50 years of manufacturing and trading history.
