Nelson Permanent placements are looking for an organised and proactive Buyer to join a busy Procurement and Supply Chain team. This role will support the purchasing of products for resale, ensuring stock availability, supplier performance, and cost-effective purchasing across the business. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to support day-to-day procurement activities, manage purchasing data, and help deliver excellent service levels. To be considered for this role as a Buyer you will have: • Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or buying role, • Good understanding of supply chain and stock management processes, • Experience using ERP or MRP systems, strong Excel and data analysis skills, • Good communication and relationship-building skills, • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines with strong attention to detail and organisational skills, • Commercial awareness and understanding of cost control, • A proactive and flexible approach to work, • Experience working with suppliers and negotiating pricing is desirable, • Interest in or working towards CIPS qualifications would be an advantage The key responsibilities of this role as a Buyer are: • Source and purchase products in line with business requirements, • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply terms, • Monitor supplier performance and service levels, • Work closely with supply chain and inventory teams to maintain stock availability, • Support demand planning and purchasing forecasts, • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements, • Manage purchasing data and maintain accurate system records, • Support supplier audits and compliance activities, • Produce procurement reports and KPI data, • Help resolve supply issues and minimise operational disruption, • Support new supplier onboarding activities, • Work closely with commercial, warehouse, finance, and customer service teams The employment package for a Buyer is: • Salary banding £33,000 – £37,000, 37.5 hours Monday - Friday, • Tamworth based, • Company pension scheme, • Holiday entitlement, • Career development and training opportunities, • Support towards professional qualifications, • Friendly and supportive working environment, • Opportunity to work within a growing procurement and supply chain team How to Apply: This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of Nelson Permanent Placements Ltd.
