Maintenance Team Leader Location: Wellingborough Hours - Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (On-call duties required) Contract Type - Full-time, Permanent Salary - £51,495 My client is looking for a highly motivated Maintenance Supervisor to manage and lead our on-site engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on ensuring that all machinery and ancillary equipment are running efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime. You will play a key part in the site’s operational success by planning, coordinating and driving maintenance activities while leading a high-performing engineering team. You’ll report to the Engineering Manager and work closely with cross-functional departments, contractors, and group engineering to ensure compliance, project delivery, and maintenance excellence. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the site Engineering Team with a hands-on, proactive approach to achieving high performance., • Manage daily team activities and individual performance in line with company policies., • Plan and oversee all site maintenance work, including coordination with contractors., • Ensure engineering projects are delivered on time and within budget., • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and group Engineering to plan and implement best practices., • Drive effective use of the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) across the site and wider group., • Serve as the escalation point for out-of-hours breakdowns., • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety standards, company procedures, and maintenance protocols., • Play an active role in risk reduction, especially in managing foreign body risks and maintenance post-redressers., • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support team development. Skills and Experience: Essential • Must have worked in a FMCG or food factory previously, • Proven experience leading an engineering or maintenance team in a fast-paced environment., • Formal engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, apprenticeship or degree in engineering)., • Excellent communication, leadership, and delegation skills., • Strong planning, prioritisation, and organisational ability., • Health & Safety certified, with a solid understanding of safety procedures and risk management., • Able to allocate resources effectively and deliver under pressure. Desirable • IOSH/NEBOSH certification., • Continuous improvement / Lean experience., • Familiarity with CMMS and computer-based financial or maintenance systems., • Coaching and mentoring experience., • Presentation and reporting skills.
