Senior Project Manager – Multi-Utilities / Energy \n Location: Tipton, West Midlands Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Type: Permanent \n This is a senior position responsible for overseeing a portfolio of major projects, leading Project Managers and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required technical standards. \n The role would suit an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager from a multi-utilities, energy, civil engineering or infrastructure background, particularly someone with strong commercial awareness and experience managing multiple projects. \n The Role \n You will take overall responsibility for project performance across your portfolio, including P&L, programme, safety, quality, commercial performance and operational delivery. \n You will lead and support Project Managers, direct labour and subcontractors, while working closely with clients, senior management and the PMO function. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Lead, manage and motivate Project Managers and operational delivery teams.\n, • Take accountability for P&L and commercial performance across allocated projects.\n, • Develop and manage project programmes using Microsoft Project.\n, • Chair client and site meetings covering programme, safety, technical standards and project performance.\n, • Lead post-tender mobilisation and ensure operational and commercial requirements are clearly documented.\n, • Manage direct labour and subcontractors across multiple projects.\n, • Ensure works are delivered safely, to specification, on time and within budget.\n, • Manage project variations, Early Warnings and changes to planned works.\n, • Monitor productivity, forecasting, margins and overall project performance.\n, • Conduct weekly project reviews to identify risks and drive successful delivery.\n, • Ensure accurate project documentation, asset records and progress reporting.\n, • Provide technical advice to clients, contractors and internal teams.\n, • Carry out audits and ensure corrective actions are resolved promptly.\n, • Manage performance, appraisals and competency requirements for direct reports.\n, • Work closely with the PMO and senior leadership teams, producing progress reports and presentations.\n, • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery.\n\n Skills & Experience \n\n • Extensive Project Management experience within multi-utilities, energy, infrastructure or civil engineering.\n, • Experience managing Project Managers, operational teams and subcontractors.\n, • Strong understanding of P&L, forecasting, budgets and project margins.\n, • Experience delivering multiple complex projects simultaneously.\n, • Strong knowledge of project programming, ideally using Microsoft Project.\n, • Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.\n, • Strong understanding of safety, compliance and technical standards.\n, • Confident presenting project performance to senior management.\n, • Highly organised, commercially aware and results-focused.\n\n Qualifications \n\n • NRSWA Supervisor\n, • SMSTS\n, • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or IOSH\n, • SHEA Gas, Power and/or Water\n, • National Water Hygiene\n, • SCO qualifications are desirable\n, • Experience within energy projects, Solar and/or BESS would be advantageous.\n\n
