Technical Manager Food Manufacturing | Northern Ireland I am delighted to be partnering with a well established chilled food manufacturer in Northern Ireland who supply premium products to major retailers across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join their leadership team. This is a key onsite role for someone who enjoys real ownership of food safety, quality systems and compliance. You will work closely with the Managing Director and Operations Manager, taking the lead on BRCGS v9, customer standards, HACCP and Technical governance across a busy production facility. Key responsibilities • Lead and maintain the site Quality Management System in line with BRCGS Food Safety Standard version 9, • Prepare for and host third party and retailer audits, including full close out of actions, • Manage the site HACCP plan and ensure all food safety controls are validated and maintained, • Oversee supplier approval, raw material and packaging risk assessments, • Investigate and manage customer complaints within agreed timeframes, • Deliver the internal audit schedule and support cross functional compliance improvement, • Provide technical oversight to NPD projects from concept through to launch, • Train new starters and provide refresher training to existing staff on site procedures, • Present monthly Technical KPIs to senior management What the ideal candidate looks like • 2 plus years experience in a similar Technical role within food manufacturing, • Strong working knowledge of BRCGS v9 and major retailer Codes of Practice, • Level 3 HACCP qualification, • Confident hosting audits and managing technical documentation, • Organised, detail focused and comfortable working closely with operations, • Experience in chilled or cooked foods is a strong advantage Why this role is worth exploring • A stable and reputable food business with strong technical foundations, • Supportive leadership and genuine autonomy in the Technical function, • Full ownership of BRCGS, audits, HACCP, suppliers and NPD, • A role where you can make a visible impact across the site If you have Technical Management or Senior Technical experience in the food industry and would like to learn more, I would be happy to share further details in confidence. What You’ll Do • Lead day-to-day civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) works on a large-scale BESS project., • Oversee groundworks, foundations, concrete structures, steel assemblies, architectural finishes, and external works to meet quality and schedule targets., • Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with drawings, technical requirements, and safety standards., • Review construction drawings, identify clashes or gaps, and propose practical solutions., • Track progress using digital site-management tools and maintain accurate logs and reports., • Conduct toolbox talks, inspections, and EHS walk-downs to uphold safety and quality., • Collaborate with MEP, commissioning, and electrical teams for smooth interface coordination., • Attend site meetings, report progress, risks, and resource needs to the Project Manager., • Support procurement and logistics planning for timely delivery of materials and equipment., • Lead snagging, rework, and handover preparation with QA/QC teams., • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. What We’re Looking For • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience., • 3+ years in site management or supervision on industrial, renewable energy, or data centre projects., • Proven experience managing CSA packages (groundworks, concrete, steel, architectural finishes)., • Experience with BESS, power generation, or substation projects is a big plus., • Strong knowledge of EHS, QA/QC, and document control on high-spec projects., • Proficient in reading technical drawings and BIM models., • Skilled in digital construction tools (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, etc.)., • Excellent leadership and communication skills., • English fluency; additional European languages are a bonus., • Willingness to travel or relocate within Europe for project duration., • Must hold an Irish passport or work permit
