Job Title: Café/Canteen Manager Location: Leeds City Centre Rate: £14 per hour Employment Type: Full time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours contracted per week, usually working approximately 42.5 hours per week between 6am and 3pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday mornings and events. We are now seeking a Café/Canteen Manager to join our newest site in Leeds at Shannon Street. This is an exciting opportunity to manage an on-site canteen serving freshly prepared breakfast and lunch to site workers and office staff, with occasional hospitality for meetings, clients and events. As Café/Canteen Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining an efficient, high quality service across all areas under your control, while upholding Domis Eat standards, company values, policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: • Manage the day-to-day preparation, cooking and service of freshly made food and sandwiches to Domis Eat standards, • Serve customers and operate the EPOS till system, • Ensure food is presented and served in a clean, hygienic and welcoming environment at all times, • Drive sales while promoting excellent customer service, • Maintain all equipment and cleaning standards in line with the cleaning rota and, • Domis Eat procedures, • Implement and maintain statutory and company standards for hygiene, food safety and health and safety, • Effectively manage, motivate and develop the team to ensure service excellence at all times, • Check deliveries, record delivery temperatures and put stock away correctly, • Use appropriate stock rotation across storerooms and food preparation areas, • Maintain and control food stocks within budget, • Record food temperatures during service, • Record wastage accurately and support cost control, • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, colleagues and management, • Attend meetings and training courses where required, • Work closely with the Operations Manager to deliver excellent customer service, food hygiene and the overall Domis Eat experience, • Support occasional hospitality requirements for meetings, clients and events, • Ensure all areas of the canteen operate efficiently during busy breakfast and lunch periods Requirements: • Proven experience successfully managing a team, • Previous experience within contract catering, café management or a similar role, • Previous food handling and cooking experience is essential, • Ability to adhere to all health and safety practices, • Strong understanding of food hygiene standards, • Food hygiene certificate is desirable, • High standards of personal hygiene and appearance, • Experience working independently and using initiative, • Ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced service environment, • Confidence managing stock, deliveries, temperatures and wastage records, • Experience delivering excellent customer service in a food service environment Personal Attributes & Desired Behaviours Integrity: Upholds high standards of hygiene, safety and professionalism at all times.
