1:1 Teaching Assistant. 1:1 Teaching Assistant Cardiff Full Time May Start Academics are looking to recruit a passionate and caring 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work alongside a Year 1 female pupil with both learning difficulties and global delay in a Cardiff Primary School. During the working day, you will working one to one with the pupil both inside and outside of the classroom setting. The pupil responds well to flash cards and using the drop signal with your hand as well as progressing well with her phonetics. The pupil does also need support in Read, Write Inc but again is progressing really well with this. Due to her global delay, the pupil does often require comfort and does need some reminding how to play, learn and act. You will need to firm but fair with the pupil as she can be quite challenging and does not respond well to change. The Head Teacher is looking for someone who can understand the needs of the pupil and help to support her learning as well as build a strong relationship with the pupil and her parents. The pupil's parents like to be kept updated regarding her progress and are more than happy to help with extra work at home. This role will be to start in May and be a full time position however we are looking to complete a hand over with the current 1:1 Teaching Assistant.
