Job Summary and Qualifications The Director of Laboratory is responsible for directing the 24-hour operations and activities of the clinical laboratory to meet organizational and regulatory requirements. Takes action immediately, as needed, to rectify problems, • Responsible to ensure the weekly and monthly corporate key indicators are an accurate measurement of past and current performance for a basis for proactive response to a changing environment, • Ensures legal and ethical practices are always maintained, • Prepares and submits capital expenditure requests, department projections and annual budget. Human Resource Functions: • Monitors and evaluates the activities of the staff and provides management, coaching, guidance, delegation opportunities, and on-the-job training and re-training as necessary to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to policies and procedures; fosters open communication by offering, encouraging, and accepting suggestions from staff regarding department operations, • Screens, interviews and selects qualified individuals for open positions within the department, • Reviews all department employee job descriptions at least annually and revises, as needed. Roles and Responsibilities: • Team Support and Supervision, • Assist in managing and supervising a team of tax professionals, administrative staff, and support personnel., • Collaborate with team members to ensure client needs are met and deadlines are followed., • Provide guidance, training, and support to staff as needed., • Client Relations:, • Assist in building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, addressing their tax-related inquiries and needs., • Help ensure that clients receive accurate tax return preparation and advisory services., • Assist with resolving client concerns and issues in a timely manner., • Compliance and Regulatory Support, • Stay updated on tax laws, regulations, and changes to ensure the office's compliance., • Assist in overseeing that the tax office and its employees adhere to all relevant tax regulations and ethical standards., • Contribute to conducting internal audits and quality checks., • Office Operations:, • Collaborate with the General Manager to manage daily office operations, including appointment scheduling, client intake, and workflow management., • Contribute to implementing efficient processes and workflows to enhance productivity and accuracy., • Support in managing office resources, budgets, and financial reporting., • Business Development and Growth:, • Assist in executing strategies to expand the client base and increase revenue., • Participate in identifying opportunities for cross-selling additional services, such as financial planning or consulting., • Support efforts to monitor market trends and competitors to maintain competitiveness., • Financial Management:, • Contribute to managing the financial aspects of Safe Tax LLC, including revenue tracking, expense monitoring, and profitability analysis., • Collaborate in making informed decisions to ensure the financial health of the office., • Training and Development:, • Support staff training and professional development to enhance their tax knowledge and skills., • Encourage staff to pursue relevant certifications and stay updated on industry trends., • Reporting and Communication:, • Maintain open communication with the General Manager and senior management, providing updates on office performance and challenges., • Prior experience in tax preparation and tax advisory services is advantageous, but not mandatory., • Willingness to gain knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance., • Strong interpersonal and communication skills., • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively., • Basic proficiency in tax software and financial management tools.
