Position Summary The Outreach Manager is responsible for leading and managing a high-energy outreach team focused on lead generation, community engagement, and program growth. This role ensures Outreach Specialists are consistently active in the field—attending events, conducting street sweeps, initiating conversations, and identifying new opportunities—while providing the structure, strategy, and accountability needed to scale outreach efforts. The Outreach Manager serves as the primary link between field outreach, marketing, and sales, overseeing event strategy, team scheduling, outreach performance tracking, and continuous improvement of outreach execution. Essential Job Functions • Lead, coach, and manage Outreach Specialists to ensure consistent field presence, strong engagement, and quality lead generation., • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee outreach activities including events, street sweeps, canvassing, and community engagement., • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize outreach opportunities such as trade shows, Chamber of Commerce meetings, sustainability events, and industry gatherings., • Ensure Outreach Specialists remain focused on proactive lead hunting and conversation initiation in the field., • Partner with marketing to develop, maintain, and deploy outreach collateral and messaging., • Ensure brand consistency and professional representation across all outreach activities., • Track outreach activity and results using CRM systems, including leads generated, conversations initiated, and events attended., • Establish, monitor, and report on outreach KPIs and performance metrics., • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to refine lead qualification and handoff processes., • Conduct ride-alongs, field observations, and performance check-ins to support coaching and development., • Collect and communicate field insights to improve outreach strategy, messaging, and program effectiveness. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Sustainability, Environmental Science, Marketing, Communications, or Business., • 3–7 years of experience in outreach, field marketing, business development, or community engagement., • Demonstrated 5+ years’ experience managing people and driving performance through coaching and accountability., • Strong interpersonal, public speaking, and written communication skills., • Genuine interest in clean energy, sustainability, and energy efficiency initiatives., • Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot or Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite., • Must reside in New Jersey., • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly throughout the NJ/Tri-state region., • Understanding of energy efficiency programs, sustainability initiatives, and incentive-based outreach models., • Familiarity with HVAC systems, lighting technologies, and building performance concepts preferred., • Strong ability to initiate, lead, and sustain professional conversations in diverse field and networking environments., • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills for events, workshops, and community meetings., • Experience evaluating outreach effectiveness and adjusting strategy based on performance metrics and KPIs., • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on field execution., • Strong organizational, time-management, and planning abilities., • Ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and team activities simultaneously., • Comfortable leading by example with high energy, professionalism, and accountability., • Self-motivated, adaptable, team-oriented, and results-driven.
