The Floor Manager plays a key leadership role in maintaining a seamless, memorable dining experience for every guest. Position Summary The Floor Manager is responsible for supervising daily front-of-house operations, ensuring service excellence, and supporting staff performance. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain a high level of hospitality and professionalism in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership * Oversee daily service operations and maintain smooth floor flow throughout shifts. * Ensure all service standards and sequence-of-service steps are consistently executed. * Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure accurate and timely food delivery. * Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate menu changes, service notes, and daily priorities. Guest Experience & Hospitality * Greet guests, engage with tables, and resolve any service issues promptly and professionally. * Maintain presence on the floor to observe service quality and guest satisfaction. * Uphold the restaurant’s elevated hospitality standards reflective of Michael White’s brand. Team Management * Support onboarding, training, and development of front-of-house staff. * Provide coaching and real-time feedback to improve performance and service technique. * Assist with managing staff schedules, side work, and station assignments. Quality & Compliance * Monitor dining room cleanliness, organization, and ambiance throughout service. * Enforce safety, sanitation, and DOH compliance standards. * Ensure accuracy in POS systems, order entry, and payment handling. Administrative Duties * Assist with inventory management and supply ordering as needed. * Participate in managers’ meetings and contribute to operational planning. * Support hiring processes, performance evaluations, and ongoing staff development initiatives. Qualifications * 2–4 years of leadership experience in upscale or fine-dining restaurants. * Strong understanding of hospitality, service flow, and guest-relations best practices. * Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. * Ability to lead by example and cultivate a positive team environment. * Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays. * Professional appearance and calm demeanor in fast-paced environments. Physical Requirements * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. * Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
