Job DescriptionBenefits: • Competitive salary, • Employee discounts, • Health insurance, • Opportunity for advancement Job Summary The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is the strategic partner to the General Manager, responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all Front of House (FOH) operations and the overall performance of the assigned location. This role ensures an exceptional, polished service experience rooted in Clive Collectives blend of intentional hospitality, refined energy, and sophisticated service. The AGM directly supports the leadership team in achieving financial goals, developing FOH staff, maintaining high operational standards, and fostering the restaurants cultural excellence. This is a full-time, salaried executive leadership role, requiring 3+ years of management experience and open availability to support high-volume operations. Operational Leadership & Execution • Manage and lead all FOH shift operations, ensuring smooth communication between service stations and the kitchen., • Maintain active floor presence, providing support and direction to the FOH team throughout service., • Oversee daily BOH coordination, working with the culinary team to ensure seamless service flow., • Monitor table turns, pacing, seating strategy, and service flow to maximize hospitality and revenue., • Ensure all opening, mid-shift, and closing duties are completed consistently and correctly., • Maintain adherence to all applicable local and state liquor laws, food safety standards, sanitation requirements, and internal policies.Team Leadership & Development, • Lead FOH recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and development., • Hire, train, develop, and retain FOH team members., • Implement consistent training standards for all FOH positions, including Clive Collective service standards, concept-specific hospitality elements, product knowledge, and brand storytelling., • Conduct performance reviews, corrective action, and coaching sessions for FOH staff in partnership with the General Manager., • Provide real-time coaching, support, and feedback throughout service.Guest Experience & Culture, • Act as an ambassador of the service brand internally and externally., • Work closely with the leadership team to execute on special guest experiences such as tasting menus and bar program features., • Resolve guest concerns professionally, quickly, and with a recovery-first mindset., • Lead pre-shift meetings focused on menu notes, concept-specific items (e.g., cocktails, wine, sake), and service expectations.Financial & Administrative Duties, • Partner with the GM to manage operational budgeting, forecasting, and reporting., • Manage labor cost and schedule FOH labor in alignment with business levels., • Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee ordering for concept-specific beverages (e.g., wine, spirits, N/A beverages, sake) and FOH supplies., • Oversee all daily administrative tasks including voids, comps, transfers, incident logs, and financial drop accuracy.Skills & Qualifications, • 3+ years of restaurant management experience required, preferably in a high-volume, full-service, or upscale dining environment., • Proven ability to build, lead, and retain a high-performing FOH team., • Solid understanding of labor, food costing, and inventory management., • Strong leadership, communication, and service coaching skills., • Proficiency in POS, scheduling, and operational systems (e.g., Toast, 7Shifts, R365)., • Current Food Handlers Card & Liquor Certification as required by local/state law (or ability to obtain)., • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.Work Environment & Expectations, • Open availability is required, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events., • Energetic, positive leadership presence with a focus on consistency, culture, and hospitality., • Professional appearance aligned with Clive Collective uniform and grooming standards., • Commitment to delivering the restaurants high-level guest experience and supporting team success.This role demands commitment, integrity, and, above all, an undeniable passion for hospitality, food, beverage, and guest engagement.
