Position Summary: The Medical Assistant is responsible for a range of administrative tasks, assisting with person served care, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. The Medical Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and safety of the medication room. RESPONSIBLITIES • Manage incoming phone calls, address inquiries from persons served, and schedule, coordinate, and confirm appointments., • Maintain, obtain, and safeguard persons served records in strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements., • Provide ongoing operational support to Medication Room Attendants (MRAs)., • Train and mentor staff on medication-related policies, procedures, and best practices., • Ensure medication rooms remain compliant with applicable Washington Administrative Code (WAC) regulations., • Collect, monitor, and accurately document vital signs and blood glucose readings as requested., • Administer medications, observe self-administration, and administer injections in accordance with provider orders and licensing standards., • Deliver education, guidance, and support to persons served related to medications and health needs., • Conduct regular medication room audits aligned with agency policies and regulatory requirements., • Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation within client charts., • Attend all required meetings and actively contribute to team collaboration and communication., • Perform additional duties as assigned, within the scope of professional licensing. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education: • High School Diploma or GED required., • Previous experience in a medical office, residential treatment facility, hospital, or outpatient clinic setting preferred, • Proficiency in medical software and electronic health records (EHR) Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: • Active Medical Assistant Certification required WORKING CONDITIONS • Comprehension, • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions or other information., • Reasoning and Decision Making, • Ability to plan, organize, and carry out assignments from management staff with minimal direction., • Ability to analyze situations and make decisions that moderately impact the immediate work unit., • Organization, • Ability to organize and prioritize job duties effectively and timely, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines., • Communication, • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, and communicate orally., • Physical requirements for this position include hearing, seeing, smelling, speaking, feeling, reaching, pinching, and repetitive motions., • This position requires standing, walking, and bending for long periods., • This position may require exerting up to 40 pounds of force to lift, carry, pull, or move objects.
