Job Description Job Title: General Laborer Job Description This role supports a concrete production operation by performing hands-on tasks in a piping room and warehouse environment. You will set cages, apply indicators, prepare and maintain molds, and use a variety of hand and power tools to ensure accurate, consistent, and safe production of concrete products. The position follows a rotating shift schedule between morning and afternoon crews and requires strong attention to detail, reliable work history, and the ability to follow instructions closely. Responsibilities • Work inside the piping room to support daily concrete production activities., • Set cages accurately according to production requirements., • Apply indicators such as pipe size, batch number, and other identifying information to products., • Use a blow torch to prepare the inside of pipes as part of the production process., • Clean and oil molds regularly to ensure proper product quality and smooth release., • Use a tape measure to take precise measurements and verify dimensions throughout the process., • Operate and handle basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively., • Complete checklists and production documentation with accuracy and attention to detail., • Follow instructions and standard operating procedures consistently to ensure quality and safety., • Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus and accuracy over the course of the shift., • Support general labor tasks in an industrial, warehouse, and production environment, including cleaning, painting, and basic repair work as needed., • Collaborate with team members on the morning and afternoon crews to meet production goals., • Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area., • Potentially operate or assist with equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts if trained and assigned. Essential Skills • Proven general labor experience, preferably in construction, trades, assembly, landscaping, or similar hands-on roles., • Ability to read a tape measure accurately; candidates will be tested on this skill., • Experience using basic hand tools and power tools in an industrial or construction setting., • Comfort working with concrete and in a production or warehouse environment., • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions well and adhere to established procedures., • Capability to perform very repetitive work while maintaining accuracy and quality., • Experience completing checklists and basic documentation with attention to detail., • Consistent work history with at least 2 years of tenure at previous jobs, showing reliability and commitment., • Willingness to work rotating shifts between morning and afternoon crews., • Physical ability to work in a dirty, non-climate-controlled environment and handle the demands of industrial labor. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in construction trades, carpentry, landscaping, or production work., • Experience in assembly, industrial repair, or similar hands-on roles., • Familiarity with concrete production or related manufacturing processes., • Any experience operating an overhead crane is a strong plus but not required., • Blueprint reading experience is a strong plus but not required., • Experience with forklifts or other material handling equipment is beneficial., • Comfort using industrial tools and equipment in a warehouse or outdoor setting., • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Work Environment This position is based in an outdoor, warehouse, and production environment focused on concrete manufacturing. You will work inside a piping room and in a warehouse that is not climate controlled, so you should be prepared to work in hot, cold, and varying weather conditions. The facility is a dirty environment due to the nature of working with concrete, molds, and industrial tools. The schedule rotates weekly between a morning crew (4:00 AM – 12:30 PM) and an afternoon crew (11:00 AM – 8:00 PM), providing consistent full-time hours. The site uses industrial equipment such as hand tools, power tools, and potentially overhead cranes and forklifts. Uniforms and boots are provided once you convert to a permanent role, and the facility features updated bathrooms, lockers, and showers to support employee comfort before and after shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fayetteville, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
