Job Description Position Summary: Skilled Carpenter responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, and frameworks made from wood, metal, plastic, and other materials. Qualifications and Experience: • Ability to estimate height, width, length, and other proportions, • Skilled Carpenter with over 5 years of experience, • Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors, • Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall, • Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures, • Ability to join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives, • Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings, • Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications, • Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure, • Build stairs, • Install cabinets and molding, • Create structures for pouring concrete, • Erect scaffolding, • Build concrete forms, • Replace panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors, • Install partitions, doors, and windows, • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment., • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine the dimensions and materials required., • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge., • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws., • Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools., • Maintain records, document actions, and present written progress reports., • Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools., • Erect scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level., • Inspect ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures., • Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue., • Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools., • Construct forms or chutes for pouring concrete., • Work with or remove hazardous material., • Finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses or buildings, using paint, hand tools, or paneling., • Apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, or decorative paneling to ceilings or walls., • A-frame levels, • Air compressors, • Auger bits, • Baluster jigs, • Band saws, • Bandsaws, • Beam saws, • Beam-lifting jacks, • Belt sanders, • Biscuit joiners, • Bosch Punch List, • Brad tackers, • Bubble levels, • Bullseye levels, • Calibrating electronic levels, • Calipers, • Carpenters' levels, • Cat's paws, • Caulking guns, • Chain saw jigs, • Getting Information, • Performing General Physical Activities, • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material, • Handling and Moving Objects, • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work, • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment, • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates, • Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events, • Coordinating the Work and Activities of Others, • Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings, • Controlling Machines and Processes, • Making Decisions and Solving Problems, • Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge, • Estimating the Quantifiable Characteristics of Products, Events, or Information, • Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards, • Scheduling Work and Activities, • Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and Fit for Duty test VCS Frame to Finish is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, age, national origin, citizenship status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, disability, and or any other basis protected by law or company policy.
