Job Description KVC Missouri Community Based Services Location: Kansas City, MO Reports To: CPA Supervisor/Director Job Summary KVC Missouri is seeking a motivated and compassionate bachelor’s level practicum student to join our team in supporting children and teens facing emotional and behavioral health challenges. This role provides an excellent hands-on learning opportunity for students looking to gain experience in a supportive, trauma-informed environment. Please note this is not a clinical/licensure placement. Responsibilities: • Assist case managers with preparing case files, documentation, and paperwork., • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case records., • Help schedule family visits, staffing, and team meetings., • Take notes during team meetings or staffing for documentation purposes., • Prepare packets for new foster families or placement changes., • Shadow case managers on home visits, family meetings, and court hearings., • Assist in supervised visitations., • Help coordinate transportation schedules for children to appointments or visits (planning, not driving)., • Research community resources to share with families and workers., • Provide children with supervised activities (games, homework support, outings approved by case manager)., • Help with foster parent recruitment or retention activities (events, newsletters, recognition projects)., • Track and organize donated items (clothing, school supplies, holiday gifts) for children in care., • Assist with data entry and reporting needs for program evaluation., • Support staff in preparing training materials for foster parents., • Participate in agency committees, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities., • Attend training on trauma-informed care, child welfare policies, and foster care regulations., • Reflect on observations and experiences through journaling or discussion with a supervisor. Qualifications: • 21 years or older, • Actively enrolled and in good standing in a bachelor’s or master’s level program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related human services field, • Approved by your program for practicum or field placement, • Strong communication and independent learning skills Why KVC?
