Job DescriptionCorrocoat USA specializes in manufacture and application of specialty industrial coatings and abrasive blasting. Projects include tank linings, pipe linings, concrete refurbishment, fiberglass repair, abrasive blasting, maintenance painting and specialty coatings application. Job Tasks involved in this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Using power tools and pressure washers to prepare steel and concrete substrates for application of coatings and paints.2. Abrasive blasting to prepare steel and concrete substrates for application of coatings and paints – including troubleshooting problems and running lines.3. Brush, trowel and / or spray application of thick film industrial coatings and paints. Resin systems include epoxy, vinyl ester and polyester.4. Run blast pots.5. Operate spray pumps – conventional and 60:1 Airless (Graco / Wiwa).6. Apply fiberglass using epoxy, vinyl ester and polyester resins. Application methods include brush, roll, trowel, casting and fiberglass.7. Whatever it takes to get the jobs done. Work Schedule • Full-time, Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM., • Occasional evening or weekend work as needed., • Overtime is expected approximately 2 weeks per month., • During Outages and out of town projects, we work 7 x 10s or 7 x 12s. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Management:, • Work with management and / or Superintendents to develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments., • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and stakeholders., • Manage one project at a time; Foreman are expected to manage 2-4 man teams Team Leadership and Coordination:, • Lead and oversee project teams, including painters, subcontractors, and suppliers., • Assign tasks, set deadlines, and ensure accountability across the team., • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction. Execution and Quality Control:, • Monitor daily progress, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets., • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and specifications., • Ability and willingness to work with the crew to achieve the project goals. This includes but is not limited to execution of all portions of the project including, but not limited to blasting, hand application of materials, fiberglass installation and spray coating with spray coating with airless, single leg pump and / or conventional spray pots., • Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions promptly. Reporting and Communication:, • Create and send daily force and quantity reports (DFRs) – i.e. timesheets plus reports of coating, grit, consumables and equipment used for a given day, • Submit daily quality control reports., • Communicate with customers, management and men as needed to ensure a successful project and team culture. Safety and Compliance:, • Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies., • High School diploma or GED required., • Must pass a pre-employment and / or random drug tests as needed to comply with customer requirements. This includes marijuana., • Satisfactory review of a background check., • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an industrial coatings background, which includes abrasive blasting and using two part epoxy, vinyl ester and / or polyester resin based coatings., • Minimum of 1 years of experience in leadership of teams of 3 or more men on heavy industrial painting, coating projects., • Expert level experience and knowledge on how to set up, run and troubleshoot an abrasive blasting operation., • Expert level of experience working with single leg airless spray pumps., • Experience working with fiberglass and / or carbon fiber is preferred., • NACE / AMPP CIP 1 Coating Inspector certification is preferred., • TWIC card is preferred. Skills and Competencies:, • Strong knowledge of industrial coatings, surface preparation techniques, and application methods., • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills., • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to write reports., • Ability to read and interpret specifications, sketches and technical drawings., • Very high attention to detail., • Ability to communicate effectively with various customer roles” (engineers, EHS, production managers, etc.), • A good listener., • A positive attitude. Work Conditions:, • Work in both office / trailer and field environments., • Travel to project sites as needed, with occasional overnight stays. Most out-of-town projects last less than 3 weeks. Greater than 60% of work is within 2 hours of Jacksonville, Florida., • Ability to work extended hours, as needed to meet project deadlines. Physical Requirements: 1. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and seek help with weights over 50 pounds.2. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.a. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs/vertical ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.b. This is a physically demanding position and may accommodate some physical disabilities. Physical dexterity may be required when performing walk through and inspection of job sites. In the performance of the walk through you will be required to transverse steep stairwells, vertical ladders and bending or stooping through tight spaces. There may be occasional lifting of materials weighing not more than 50 pounds. Environmental Conditions: This position works on the jobsite. There is exposure to hostile environments, loud noises, hazardous chemicals/fumes and airborne particles, smoke, extreme temperatures moving mechanical parts: high, precarious places.
