JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Family Support Manager DEPT: Early Learning Division REPORTS TO: Assistant ELD Director FLSA: Exempt SALARY RANGE: Grade 3 AVAILABLE SALARY: JOB SUMMARY: To provide leadership, oversight, and coordination of all family engagement and support services within the Early Learning Division. The Family Support Manager ensures that services are in compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards and reflect a strength-based, family-centered approach. CHILDREN SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for child supervision and for keeping children safe. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Provide supervision, coaching, and general oversight of Family Support Specialists and PFCE (Parent, Family Community Engagement) Specialists., • Oversee the implementation and monitoring of data systems to track Family Support and PFCE performance and ensure compliance, regularly analyzing and reporting results to inform continuous improvement efforts., • Collaborate with the Education, Health, Mental Health, and Disabilities teams to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to family and child services., • Provide support and coordination of parent engagement activities and events, including orientation, parent committee meetings, Policy Council, and parent workshops., • Ensure that communication is available to parents regarding all center and local activities and maintain appropriate information (ex., workshops, job postings, etc.), including family services resources., • Develop and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations to support families’ needs and referrals. Coordinate with other agencies to support the accomplishments of the goals of families in the program., • Provide training and technical assistance to staff on topics related to family engagement, trauma-informed practices, and community resources., • Monitor compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, including ongoing tracking of family needs, referrals, and follow-up services., • Assist in the development and implementation of program improvement plans and reports related to family services., • Responsible for the implementation of the Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework, including planning, developing, and facilitating training sessions for parents and staff., • Annual revision of the ELD resource handbook for families., • Facilitate meetings/trainings for Family Case Workers and Family Support staff., • Attend training sessions and meetings, and prepare all required reports as required by the supervisor., • Assist and support in recruitment and enrollment activities., • Participate in the Family Development Credential certification (if applicable)., • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work, Human Services, or related field with three or more years of proven supervisory experience within social services or early childhood programs., • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate's degree in Human Services or a related field with a minimum of five years supervisory work experience in Human Services or a related field., • Ability to collaborate with and have working knowledge of local community resources., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of various processes including database management, spreadsheet, word processing, internet, and email., • Ability to prioritize and manage a complex workload and deadlines., • Ability to train and provide presentations to large and small groups as well as individuals., • Valid Connecticut Driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
