Job Description Press Brake Operator $18 - $19 / hr 1st shift Job Description Join a long-established, family-owned manufacturing company as a Press Brake Operator, producing customized electrical enclosure and metal boxes. In this role, you will operate modern press brake and punch press equipment to bend, punch, and drill sheet metal components according to blueprints and production specifications. You will contribute directly to high-quality, custom fabrication work in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities • Operate a Euromac and Armada press brake to bend sheet metal components according to production requirements and work instructions., • Operate punch press and drill press equipment to punch and drill holes in metal enclosure parts as specified., • Use tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet quality standards., • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to determine correct dimensions, bend sequences, and hole locations., • Build metal enclosure boxes and customized electrical enclosure boxes by bending, punching, and drilling sheet metal components., • Perform routine inspection of parts during and after processing to maintain consistent quality and identify defects or deviations., • Handle and move sheet metal and finished parts, including lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed., • Use hand tools and production equipment safely and efficiently to support fabrication and production activities., • Follow established safety procedures, equipment operating guidelines, and shop floor policies at all times., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools, materials, and equipment., • Minimum 6 months of experience operating a brake press in a production or fabrication environment., • Experience operating both brake press and punch press equipment, with a focus on machine operation rather than setup., • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for metal fabrication work., • Ability to use calipers and micrometers to measure and verify part dimensions., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for sheet metal and fabrication projects., • Experience working with sheet metal and fabrication processes., • Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds on a regular basis., • Familiarity with production equipment and machine operation in a manufacturing environment., • Ability to follow safety procedures and operate machinery in a safe manner., • At least 1 year of brake press experience is strongly preferred., • Experience working with Euromac and Armada press brake machines or similar newer model brake presses., • Hands-on experience using hand tools in a production or fabrication setting., • Experience in production, metal fabrication, or manufacturing environments., • Comfort working with shear presses and other sheet metal processing equipment., • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and fabrication drawings beyond basic layouts., • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in operating industrial machinery. Work Environment This role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility equipped with large fans throughout the site to improve airflow and comfort. You will work on a first-shift schedule from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, supporting steady daytime hours. The environment is a busy production floor with press brakes, punch presses, drill presses, shear presses, and other sheet metal fabrication equipment in regular use. You can expect to stand for extended periods, handle sheet metal, and lift materials up to 50 pounds while working around industrial machinery and hand tools. Appropriate work attire typically includes durable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for a fabrication shop setting, along with any required personal protective equipment provided according to safety guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garland, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
