Job Title: CDL Class A Driver Pay: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour Location: Brownsburg, IN (daily routes, home every night) Position Overview The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of mail across local and long-distance routes, ensuring timely delivery between facilities. This role requires strict adherence to DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safety procedures while maintaining accurate logs and documentation. Drivers must be comfortable operating in varying road and weather conditions and communicating effectively with dispatch and clients. Work schedules may include nights, weekends, and holidays based on route assignments. Key Responsibilities • Operate 26’ box trucks with lift gates and tractor-trailers for both in-state and out-of-state deliveries, • Load and unload cargo safely using pallet jacks and forklifts, • Ensure timely and secure delivery of mail in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies, • Maintain accurate DOT logs, DVIRs, delivery receipts, and related documentation, • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections; report and document any defects, • Communicate delays, delivery issues, or route changes to dispatch and supervisors, • Report accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly and accurately, • Obtain delivery confirmations and required signatures, • Operate vehicles safely in a variety of road and weather conditions, • Follow all safety protocols and participate in required training, • Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED preferred, • Valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements, • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience, • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations or accidents within the past 3–5 years, • Valid DOT Medical Card, • Ability to pass background check, MVR review, drug and alcohol screening, and clearinghouse requirements Skills & Competencies • Proficient English communication in compliance with FMCSA requirements, • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, • Dependable, team-oriented mindset, • Effective problem-solving and time-management skills, • Ability to read, write, and follow delivery instructions, • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic Physical Requirements • Prolonged periods of sitting while driving and standing during loading/unloading, • Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching, • Ability to lift 30–50 lbs regularly, • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Equal Employment Opportunity This employer provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
