Position Summary The Director of Field Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day field execution across hardscape and concrete operations. This position leads project execution from planning through completion while coordinating crews, equipment, schedules, subcontractors, logistics, and field leadership. This role works closely with ownership, sales leadership, project management, and the accounting/business management team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, profitably, and to company quality standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-oriented, experienced in construction operations, and capable of managing multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality or accountability. Key ResponsibilitiesField Operations & Project Execution * Meet crews at the Apopka yard each morning beginning at 6:00 AM to coordinate daily work assignments, review schedules and routes, address operational or personnel issues, and ensure crews are prepared for efficient jobsite execution. * Oversee field operations for hardscape, artificial turf, concrete, repair, and sealing projects * Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to company quality standards * Monitor job progress, identify operational issues early, and implement corrective actions * Maintain accountability for workmanship, jobsite professionalism, and customer experience * Support successful execution of both residential and builder/commercial projects * Coordinate field operations for multiple concurrent projects across crews and divisions Scheduling, Logistics & Production * Partner with ownership, sales leadership, and project management on scheduling and production planning * Coordinate labor, subcontractors, equipment, deliveries, and material flow * Ensure schedule adherence and efficient crew utilization * Oversee yard organization, fleet readiness, equipment maintenance, and operational logistics * Help improve workflow efficiency and reduce downtime or production bottlenecks Team Leadership * Lead and support field supervisors, foremen, project managers, crews, drivers, and subcontractors * Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions * Foster a culture of accountability, communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement * Ensure accurate reporting of hours, production progress, and jobsite updates * Set clear expectations and maintain operational standards across teams Quality, Safety & Accountability * Maintain high standards for quality control and jobsite execution * Minimize rework, warranty callbacks, and production inefficiencies * Promote and enforce safe work practices and company policies * Ensure proper use, organization, and maintenance of company tools, vehicles, and equipment * Support operational consistency through process improvement and documentation QualificationsRequired * Proven leadership experience in construction field operations, project management, or related operational leadership roles * Strong understanding of construction scheduling, crew coordination, and jobsite management * Experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously * Experience with residential and builder/commercial construction environments * Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, production-driven environment * Ability to read plans, scopes, and project specifications * Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites Preferred * Experience in hardscapes, pavers, outdoor living construction, concrete, masonry, or similar exterior construction trades * Familiarity with: * Buildertrend * Microsoft Teams & Outlook * Construction scheduling tools * Job costing and profitability tracking Compensation & Benefits * Competitive salary based on experience with potential for bonus plan ($75,000 - $85,000 DOE) * Company vehicle and cell phone provided * Paid time off (starting at 80 hours after 6 months) * 401K with employer matching after 6 monhs * Opportunities for long-term growth and leadership development Work Environment This is a hands-on leadership role that requires active involvement in field operations, jobsite coordination, and problem-solving.
