This dynamic role facilitates small and large group workshops focused on social-emotional wellness, academic achievement, and life skills, while building authentic relationships that foster resilience, confidence, and a culture of belonging. The position monitors youth participation and safety on-site and during off-site events, maintains accurate records tracking growth and progress, and ensures compliance with grant objectives and organizational standards. By inspiring continuous growth and connecting youth to essential resources, the Youth Success Coach drives positive outcomes for members, club families, and the community. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Mentoring, Coaching, and Youth Development • Provide group coaching sessions focused on goal setting, academic success, confidence building, conflict resolution, healthy decision-making, and social-emotional well-being., • Establish trusting relationships with youth members to encourage participation, engagement, and strong support systems., • Support club members in developing life skills, promoting resilience, and making positive choices that align with BGCCF program outcomes: Education & Career Development, Character & Leadership Development, Sports, Fitness, & Recreation, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, Mental Health., • Adapt coaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles, abilities, and personal development needs, fostering confidence and independence., • Educate and mentor youth to overcome challenges by identifying barriers to success and connecting them with supportive resources., • Conduct group coaching workshops focused on emotional regulation, peer collaboration, resilience, and stress management., • Support youth in managing behavioral challenges by reinforcing positive behavior strategies and productive routines within the Club setting., • Partner with the Club Director and Supervisor to respond to crises, ensuring timely support and appropriate referrals to mental health or social service providers., • Model professionalism, empathy, and supportive communication to build a safe, inclusive, and empowering Club culture. Academic and College Success Coaching • Meet with youth members in small groups to review academic content, clarify concepts, and support assignment completion., • Guide study habits, executive functioning skills, organization, and time management., • Develop and monitor individualized Student Success Development Plans in collaboration with the Club Service Director and Director of Social Emotional Development & Program Impact., • Track academic progress and collaborate with Club Directors, parents, teachers, and support staff to address academic challenges early., • Guide students through college, vocational, and career pathways, including applications, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities., • Facilitate career exploration activities, workforce readiness workshops, and job-shadowing or internship placements in partnership with local organizations and businesses., • Develop and deliver engaging coaching activities and curricula aligned with organizational mission, grant objectives, and Club programming goals., • Partner with program staff to assess youth needs and integrate success coaching strategies into daily activities., • Collaborate across departments to strengthen program delivery, share best practices, and continuously improve outcomes., • Contribute to a positive team culture through active participation in meetings, professional learning, and staff development opportunities., • Support data collection, evaluation, and reporting processes to ensure compliance with grant requirements and to demonstrate measurable member impact., • Participate in family engagement events, open houses, and community outreach activities to build strong connections between the Club and member families. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Education, Experience & Skills) Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or a related field from an accredited college or university., • Minimum of two years of experience in youth development, life coaching, academic success coaching, or a related field., • Experience working in school-based programs, youth organizations, or mentoring settings., • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and connect with youth from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds., • Proven track record of designing and delivering engaging coaching or mentoring programs aligned with organizational mission and curriculum., • Experience collaborating with staff, families, and community partners to identify and address youth needs., • Familiarity with academic and success coaching techniques, including goal setting, confidence building, conflict resolution, and healthy decision-making., • Understanding of challenges faced by students and commitment to removing barriers to success., • Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to inspire and motivate., • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational abilities., • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment., • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond to crises calmly and effectively., • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion when handling sensitive issues., • Competence in designing and implementing engaging coaching and educational activities., • Skilled in tracking and documenting youth progress and other grant requirements accurately and in a timely manner., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce or similar platforms is a plus., • Valid Florida driver’s license, clean driving record, and consistent access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage., • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS: • The position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments of an office or club setting, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions., • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals., • Required to operate a motor vehicle for on-site club assignments, events, or required meetings., • Work in environments frequented by children and families, requiring adherence to safety and conduct standards that ensure a child-friendly and family-oriented atmosphere., • This role will have a standard and predictable work schedule. However, all staff must be adaptable to a dynamic work schedule, including evenings and weekends, to support club activities and events. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: • Physically capable of performing programming activities and club duties on-site and off-site, including participating in field trips, enrichment events, and supervision of members during community outings., • Ability to stand, sit, walk, or move around for extended periods and to lift up to 30 pounds., • Must be able to actively monitor and maintain a line of sight on groups of 15–20 youth members, following best practices to ensure safety and appropriate supervision in dynamic settings., • Capacity to maneuver in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions as needed., • Strong voice projection and verbal presence to facilitate, instruct, and engage small and large groups in workshops, activities, and team settings., • Operates computer and related office productivity equipment (e.g., copy machine, phone, printer, tablet) frequently, including tasks involving repetitive motion, visual focus, and fine motor skills., • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to monitor youth behaviors, environmental conditions, and safety standards., • Mental resilience and ability to stay focused, alert, and effective in busy, sometimes noisy environments., • Demonstrated capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize under pressure, and maintain composure in crisis or unexpected situations., • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with children, families, and staff in a variety of settings., • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (occasionally).
