Job DescriptionDescription: Here is a polished, licensing-aligned version consistent with your leadership style: Job Title: Lead Teacher – Pre-K 4 Reports To: Program Director / Executive Director Department: Early Childhood Education Position Summary The Lead Teacher – Pre-K 4 is responsible for planning and implementing a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for Pre-K 4 scholars. This role ensures high-quality instruction, effective classroom management, active supervision, and compliance with all licensing and organizational standards while promoting school readiness. Key Responsibilities Classroom Instruction & Curriculum • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with program curriculum, • Support early literacy, language, math, social-emotional, and physical development, • Maintain consistent classroom routines, schedules, and transitions, • Foster an engaging, structured, and nurturing learning environment School Readiness & Development • Promote independence, social skills, and self-regulation, • Support cognitive and language development through intentional teaching, • Differentiate instruction based on scholar needs Supervision & Safety • Maintain active supervision of scholars at all times, • Ensure classroom safety and compliance with health and safety standards, • Follow all transition and emergency procedures, • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom Assessment & Documentation • Maintain accurate lesson plans, observations, and required documentation, • Monitor and document scholar progress and developmental indicators, • Ensure classroom postings and compliance documentation remain current Classroom Management & Behavior Support • Implement positive guidance and behavior support strategies, • Foster respectful scholar interactions and classroom community, • Address behavioral concerns using program-approved practices Family Communication & Engagement • Maintain professional communication with families, • Provide updates regarding scholar progress and classroom activities, • Foster positive family partnerships Compliance & Professionalism • Ensure classroom practices meet licensing and organizational standards, • Maintain confidentiality of scholar and family information, • Participate in required trainings and professional developmentRequirements: Qualifications Required • High school diploma or equivalent, • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent credential per licensing standards, • Previous experience working with preschool / Pre-K scholars, • Strong classroom management skills, • Knowledge of child development and school readiness principles Preferred • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, • Experience with curriculum implementation and assessments Paid Time off Professional Development Option 401k participation Heath, Vision and Dental Benefits for Full time employees
