A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REGISTERED NURSE (RN) As a Registered Nurse, you play an essential role in conducting patient visits to assess their nursing needs. You are in charge of making the initial evaluation visit in order to develop the plan of care for each of your patients. As you continue to visit your patients, you perform ongoing comprehensive assessments of their needs while making any necessary revisions to the plan of care under the direction of the physician. Using your specialized nursing skills, you provide whatever services or treatments are needed as well as educate the patient or caregiver regarding the disease process, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies.
