Job Description Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk with experience in handling hazardous materials. This role is responsible for managing shipping and receiving operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SAP ERP systems, operate sit-down forklifts, and manage customer communications effectively. Responsibilities • Handle inbound and outbound shipments of hazardous materials in compliance with DOT, IATA, and CA Title 22 regulations., • Safely operate a sit-down forklift for loading, unloading, and material movement., • Utilize SAP ERP system for inventory tracking, order processing, and shipment documentation., • Prepare FedEx shipping labels and ensure all hazardous material documentation is accurate and complete., • Coordinate with customers regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and special handling requirements., • Maintain adherence to all applicable regulations including 49 CFR 172.704 and DGR 1.5 standards., • Comply with CA Title 22 requirements for hazardous waste generation and disposal., • Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping/receiving hazardous materials., • Proficient in SAP ERP systems and FedEx labeling software., • Valid forklift certification., • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills., • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training preferred., • IATA Hazmat Shipping Certification. Work Environment The work environment involves exposure to chemical smells. You will be expected to wear appropriate attire to ensure safety in handling hazardous materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
