Job Description Job Title: Material Handler - 4am Start - Sorrento Valley Job Description The Material Handler performs a full range of shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities within a warehouse environment. This role ensures accurate and timely movement of materials and finished goods, maintains compliance with regulatory requirements, and supports manufacturing operations by keeping inventory records precise and up to date. Responsibilities • Prepare shipping documents, instructions, and other required paperwork to coordinate the shipment and freighting of pumps, cartridges, and materials., • Pack and prepare products and materials for shipment in accordance with customer requests and company procedures., • Maintain accurate records of orders shipped, including documentation of weights and shipping charges., • Ensure all shipping documentation complies with applicable governmental and regulatory agency requirements., • Schedule and coordinate shipment deadlines with Customer Service to ensure shipments and freight arrive at the correct destination within the required timeline., • Operate and maintain computerized shipping systems, 100 lb scale, 300 lb hand truck, pallet jack, bubble pack dispenser, and banding equipment., • Receive incoming materials, services, and supplies by unpacking and checking goods against purchase orders or invoices., • Maintain records of received goods and identify, document, and reject unsatisfactory items as needed., • Transfer approved materials into proper stockroom locations or deliver packages to internal customers in a timely manner., • Coordinate incoming shipments of goods authorized for return with Customer Service, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance., • Receive product from quarantine and production into finished goods, verify accuracy against shop orders or sterile processing logs, and report discrepancies to the supervisor., • Examine stock levels and distribute materials to inventory locations and manufacturing lines as required., • Pull materials to support work orders and inventory requests, ensuring correct quantities and locations., • Perform daily cycle counts and work to maintain 100% accuracy of all finished goods inventory., • Complete daily inventory data transactions in the ERP system and ensure records remain current and accurate., • Respond to inventory inquiries and provide timely and accurate feedback to internal stakeholders., • Use pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies, and automated shipping equipment such as FedEx systems safely and effectively., • Communicate with coworkers primarily via email while on-site and respond to messages in a timely manner during working hours., • Perform other related duties as assigned in shipping, receiving, and inventory control to support overall warehouse operations. Essential Skills • Minimum of 2 years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment, including material handling responsibilities., • Hands-on experience performing data entry within an ERP system., • Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment and familiarity with applicable requirements., • Proficiency using pallet jacks, forklifts, and dollies to move materials safely., • Experience operating automated shipping equipment such as FedEx shipping systems., • Good oral and written communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and documenting transactions., • Basic math skills to handle weights, counts, and shipping charges accurately., • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with a laid-back but collaborative team., • Demonstrated word processing and data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy., • Familiarity with working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment., • Ability to obtain and maintain the company’s forklift certification in good standing., • Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory California driving record., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with international shipping processes and documentation., • Experience in inventory counting, cycle counting, and reconciliation., • Experience with picking and packing operations in a warehouse or manufacturing setting., • Comfort working with computerized shipping and inventory systems beyond basic ERP use., • Ability to adapt to a growing operation, including supporting an off-site warehouse facility., • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks., • Comfort communicating primarily via email while on-site and responding promptly during working hours. Work Environment This role is based in a warehouse environment that supports manufacturing and finished goods distribution. Most communication occurs via email while on-site, and the role requires timely responses to coworkers during working hours, though there is no expectation to monitor email on a personal phone. The position involves regular use of pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies, 100 lb scales, hand trucks, bubble pack dispensers, banding equipment, and computerized shipping and ERP systems. The work includes physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and moving materials throughout the facility. The shift schedule runs Tuesday through Friday from 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM, supporting late-afternoon and evening operations in a structured yet relaxed warehouse setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.76 - $19.76/hr.
