Job DescriptionJob Title: Freight Shipping Clerk Job Description The Freight Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and processing all outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy between carrier systems and the internal warehouse management system. This role involves packaging products, preparing freight and parcel labels, verifying shipment details, and supporting general warehouse operations such as picking, kitting, unloading containers, and receiving. The position is hands-on, detail-oriented, and plays a key role in ensuring products are shipped accurately, efficiently, and on time. Shift: 8am-4:30pm Responsibilities • Coordinate all outgoing shipments and ensure shipment information is accurate and complete., • Enter and verify delivery addresses, pallet dimensions, and weights to accurately calculate and coordinate shipping costs., • Use FedEx Freight Manager and other carrier platforms to create and manage shipping labels for both freight and parcel shipments., • Package products securely and prepare pallets for shipment, including shrink wrapping and banding as needed., • Lift and handle packages and products weighing up to 40 pounds as part of daily duties., • Assist with picking duties by selecting parts and products in the warehouse according to order requirements., • Pick a variety of parts such as washers, frames, stickers, decals, belts, bearings, and other components used to replace damaged parts., • Use a warehouse management system to perform bin transfers, placing small parts into bins, scanning them, and transferring them into the new system., • Operate a push cart to move through the warehouse and pick products efficiently and safely., • Use an RF scanner to scan products and update inventory and shipping information into a laptop or warehouse system., • Pack and label products accurately to ensure they are ready for shipment., • Support receiving operations once trained, including checking in incoming products and updating inventory., • Assist with unloading containers and moving inventory into appropriate storage locations as needed., • Perform basic inventory control tasks, including cycle counts and verifying product locations and quantities., • At least 2 years of freight shipping experience., • Proficiency with FedEx Freight Manager and related shipping software., • Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including outbound and inbound freight., • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly., • Basic computer skills and the ability to enter and verify data accurately., • Experience with FedEx, UPS, and general freight shipping practices., • Familiarity with using RF scanners for picking and inventory transactions., • Ability to work with a warehouse management system for tasks such as bin transfers and inventory updates., • Experience with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and inventory verification., • Knowledge of freight management processes and best practices., • Experience using pallet jacks to move pallets safely within the warehouse., • Background in unloading containers and handling inbound shipments., • Familiarity with SAP or similar inventory and warehouse management systems is a plus., • Comfort working with small parts and components, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in picking and packing. Work Environment This role is based in a small, organized, and temperature-controlled warehouse environment. You will work a consistent schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The facility uses a warehouse management system, RF scanners, laptops, push carts, and pallet jacks to support daily operations. The environment focuses on efficient pick-and-pack distribution of parts, with clearly defined processes and a collaborative team atmosphere. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
