Job Description Duration: Long term contract Job Description: License Electrician: Representative Tasks: • Installing, modifying, repairing, and maintaining electrical distribution systems (normal and emergency), including panels, switchgear, feeders, branch circuits, lighting, and receptacles up to 12,470|4160 volts and low voltage 480|277|208|120 volts, wiring systems, digital and analog electronic controls, protection devices, power relays, isolation power systems, line isolation monitors, patient bedside power units, solar photovoltaic panels, power inverters, open and closed transitioned transfer switches, medium voltage starters, programmable logic controllers, advanced power logic metering, radio frequency transmitters and receivers, elevators, building automation systems, variable frequency drives, uninterruptible power supplies, power conditioners, capacitor banks, emergency and standby generators, paralleling switchgear, load banks and lighting systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code and VA requirements., • Maintaining and troubleshooting emergency power systems (generators, transfer switches), motor control centers, variable frequency drives, and specialized controls serving HVAC, elevators, medical gas systems, and other critical equipment. Performing preventive maintenance on motors, generators, breakers, and controls, including insulation resistance testing, cleaning, lubrication, and component replacement. Use of advanced electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, meggers, insulation testers, power quality meters) to diagnose faults and verify system performance., • Providing electrical design and constructability input to the General Engineer and Government project managers for station-level construction and renovation projects., • Installing, modifying, repairing, troubleshooting, loading, and testing new and existing electrical cables, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment., • Assembly and installation, repairs or replaces equipment including motors, remote controllers, starters, operating rooms, catherization laboratories, x-ray equipment, sterilizers, data centers, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy, laboratory equipment, protection devices, warning and alarm devices, power and lighting panels, and switches in installation buildings., • Assistance with duties of a fire and security alarm technician operating building automation systems, dispatching service calls and updating equipment logs for various building service equipment. Work includes HVAC and plumbing maintenance and repair of electronic and pneumatic controllers on HVAC and plumbing systems. Deliverables Complete Electrical work orders and PM completion records documenting inspections, tests, repairs, and parts replaced. Test electrical systems (e.g., insulation resistance, breaker testing, generator/load bank testing, battery testing, ) as requested by the Government. Redlined/as-built markups to electrical drawings to reflect field changes and ensure system documentation is current. Outage and incident reports for significant electrical events (e.g., faults, unplanned outages, equipment failures) including root cause and recommended corrective actions.
