Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/20/2026, • Duration: 16 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 20, 2026, • Length: 16 weeks, • Work setting is a locked corrections unit for Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC) inmates within an oncology hospital, • Unit access is controlled by Corrections Officers (CO) with a CO-to-inmate ratio of 1:2, • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 for PCU and 1:4-5 for MS, • Shifts may be assigned to either the MS or PCU unit depending on department needs, • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30, • Day/night rotating contracts may result in scheduling for days, nights, or a combination based on staffing needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, • Weekend shift requirements vary based on unit needs, • Floating to various Oncology Med/Surg units required, • Patient population includes active oncology diagnoses and treatments (solid tumors, hematology), oncology workup admissions, and non-oncology diagnoses such as surgical procedures, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, and renal failure, • Charting via Epic; medication dispensing via Pyxis, • Key skills utilized include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central/PICC line management, tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, PCA management, and feeding tube careRequirements, • Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand, • Current BLS certification required, • Epic EMR experience required, • Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience required, • Oncology experience preferred but not required, • Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, • Experience with central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV management, • Experience with respiratory support equipment including CPAP/BiPAP and HFNCAdditional Information, • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration, • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration, • All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration, • Staff safety protocols are in place for the secure corrections environment, • Support services available on unit include interpretation services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response teams, respiratory services, social services, and patient transportation With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
