Job DescriptionJob Title: Medical AssistantJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. You will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting patients, assessing their conditions, and assisting healthcare providers with examinations and procedures. Responsibilities • Greet patients and express sensitivity to their needs and conditions., • Assess and document the general condition of patients, including recording chief complaints, vital signs, weight, medications, and social history., • Record services and diagnoses accurately for encounter forms, requisitions, consent forms, and advance beneficiary notices., • Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments according to established protocols., • Independently perform ancillary services such as venipunctures and x-rays per protocols., • Maintain medical records, prepare charts, and file correspondence and test results., • Coordinate care by messaging patient telephone calls, scheduling appointments, and communicating prescription refills., • Use the EMR and other computer applications effectively according to policies and procedures., • Track ordered or pending tests, procedures, and referrals according to protocol., • Administer medication orally and via intra-muscular injection as directed by physician order., • Determine eligibility and obtain authorization for services., • Schedule tests and appointments for referred services and track referrals., • Promote patient wellness through education as directed by the provider., • Utilize advanced clinical knowledge or experience to resolve patient questions and meet their needs., • Participate in quality initiatives and safety functions., • Assist in identifying and ordering needed supplies., • Stay informed and compliant with current policies and procedures., • Maintain exemplary patient satisfaction and engage as a team member., • Exercise independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited., • New Graduate Medical Assistants or one year of related experience within the last five years., • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills., • Demonstrated patient care skills., • High School Diploma or GED., • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Educational Program or one year of related experience within the last five years. Shifts will vary based on location and clinic coverage needs, with a typical schedule of 36-40 hours per week during the day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00/hr.
