Job Description Job Title: Superintendent Job Description The Superintendent oversees day-to-day field operations on commercial construction sites, ensuring projects stay on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements. This role manages subcontractors and field staff, maintains detailed project documentation, and upholds rigorous safety and quality standards across all phases of construction, with a strong emphasis on healthcare-related projects. Responsibilities • Oversee daily field operations on construction sites to ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards., • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to maintain efficient workflow and timely completion of project milestones., • Manage and supervise subcontractor activities, including scheduling, performance oversight, and adherence to contract requirements., • Ensure full compliance with construction regulations, including required documentation, inspections, and reporting., • Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce site safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel., • Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and project documentation, ensuring records are complete, current, and organized., • Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues and keep projects moving forward., • Monitor construction progress and proactively identify potential delays or conflicts, implementing corrective actions as needed., • Lead, mentor, and support field personnel to promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement., • Support change order processes by communicating field conditions, scope changes, and impacts to schedule and cost., • Participate in or support bidding activities by providing field insights, constructability feedback, and schedule considerations., • Ensure infection control and life safety requirements are implemented and maintained on healthcare construction projects, where applicable. Essential Skills • Proven experience managing full construction projects, including large-scale commercial work such as hotels, education facilities, and museums., • Demonstrated experience with projects valued at $20M or more, with a strong portfolio of completed work., • Strong understanding of healthcare construction processes, including infection control risk assessment (ICRA) protocols and life safety requirements., • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules with a high level of accuracy., • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to direct, mentor, and motivate field teams and subcontractors., • Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients., • Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on documentation, reporting, and maintaining detailed project records., • Proficiency in construction management software, such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project., • Experience in commercial construction supervision, including subcontractor management and change order processes., • Understanding of OSHA safety standards; OSHA 30 certification is preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in healthcare construction environments, including familiarity with infection control protocols and life safety requirements., • HCAI (formerly OSHPD) experience, training, or certification is a plus for healthcare-related projects., • History in bidding support, including reviewing scopes, schedules, and constructability considerations., • Experience working on hotel, education, and museum projects is preferred., • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners., • Comfort working with both indoor and outdoor job sites in varying conditions., • OSHA 30 certification preferred, reflecting a strong commitment to safety leadership. Work Environment This role is based on active construction job sites that include both indoor and outdoor environments. Safety is a central focus, with regular safety meetings and enforcement of site protocols to ensure a secure and compliant work environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Long Beach, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
