Job Description General Purpose of the Job: The Financial Compliance Data Analyst will serve as a central, cross-functional data expert for Children’s Rescue Fund (CRF), ensuring that financial, compliance, risk and operational data are transformed into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making, strengthen transparency, and showcase the measurable impact of CRF’s mission. Dually reporting to (and under the direction of) the CFO and Compliance Director, this position will collaborate with program and operations management to design, produce, and present data models that: • Increase data transparency thereby financial reporting, fundraising, and operational efficiency), • Strengthen compliance and finance posture by enhancing a culture of accountability and effectiveness), • Develop and execute informative strategy that will emphasize our mission, vision and values), • Highlight CRF’s value as a premier partner to the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and other agencies Position Requirements and Minimum Qualifications: Licenses, certifications, degrees, and job-related knowledge: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Economics, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred), • 3–5 years of progressive experience in data analytics, financial analysis, or impact measurement in a nonprofit, government, or social services context, • Direct work experience in and knowledge of nonprofit organizational operations and governmental contract knowledge is strongly preferred, • Experience presenting data to executive leadership, boards, and external stakeholders, • Unquestionable personal integrity, credibility, and the ability to gain the trust of employees at all levels, • Utilize demonstrated good judgment, sensitivity, and high discretion in the handling of confidential information, • Exceptional ability to analyze, interpret, and visualize data for diverse audiences, • Ability to be creative and resourceful to identify and anticipate any issue through research and propose the resolution, • Strong understanding of nonprofit financial structures, GAAP principles, and restricted/unrestricted funding, • Familiarity with NYC DHS/HRA CARES reporting and compliance / risk frameworks, • Knowledge of donor analytics, fundraising metrics, and emerging trends in cryptocurrency philanthropy, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into accessible insights, • Collaborative approach and ability to work across multiple departments with competing priorities, • Strong project management and organizational skills coupled with a high attention to accuracy and deadlines, • Must have incredible initiative, the ability to work well under pressure, and the ability to be flexible and work both independently and as part of a team to complete complex projects in a fast-paced environment, • High level of computer proficiency in MS Office: Outlook [email system] Word, Excel [with advanced level knowledge], Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools, PowerPoint, Adobe, internet navigation, and the ability to learn new technologies and databases Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Information Privacy & Confidentiality • Due to the nature of required data analysis tasks and responsibilities, must exercise adherence to both privacy and confidentiality, • Privacy refers to the Organization’s Rights to control their corporate information and decide who can access it; It’s about autonomy over agency space, data, or activities; Agency data privacy must be protected during the entire data analysis lifecycle (design, selection, ingestion, storage, retrieval, modeling, reporting, and decision-making); Speculation and inappropriate communication during any phase of this lifecycle is a violation of agency compliance policies, • Partner with the CFO to translate financial data into clear, mission-focused narratives for internal and external stakeholders, • Develop multi-year trend analyses, revenue/expense allocation models, cost-per-outcome metrics, and restricted vs. unrestricted funding reports, • Produce data visualizations (pie charts, stacked bar charts, waterfall charts, line graphs, and dashboards) for board reports, the Annual Report, donor presentations, and program reviews, • Partner with the Compliance Director to translate program and operational data into clear, accountability-focused models that drive compliance with legal, regulatory and contract requirements, • Develop early-warning metrics to flag potential compliance and other risks, and to prepare evidence-based mitigation reports and solutions, • Create data-driven reports and presentations for key stakeholders (management, board, regulators, funders and donors) that demonstrate CRF’s adherence to contractual and regulatory standards, • Collaborate with Program, Social Services and Operational (DBO) leadership to transform compliance-driven raw data (CARES, SMS, case management, service delivery) into performance dashboards and efficiency metrics, • Create and maintain permanent, automated, well-controlled, multi-level management reporting platform for both DHS-mandated CAP responses (near-term) and agency-required management workflows, • Together with our Director of CQI, to analyze operational processes, utilization trends, service outcomes, and funding implications to identify strengths and areas for improvement; All such proposed changes will therefore be backed by hard data, • Partner with the Development Office to analyze donor giving patterns, campaign performance, and fundraising ROI, • Build targeted donor segmentation models to guide cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation strategies, • Develop specialized analytics for cryptocurrency-based donations, identifying trends, potential donor demographics, and messaging opportunities in the crypto community This role is a cornerstone of CRF’s evolving data-driven culture, enabling the organization to: • Demonstrate measurable impact to key stakeholders (executive management, board of directors, funders, regulators, and donors), • Maintain a leadership position in fiscal/operational compliance and risk transparency, • Strengthen compliance performance under public funding scrutiny, • Collaborate with the Director of Communications to integrate financial and program impact data into marketing, advocacy, and fundraising materials, • Produce concise, visually compelling data stories that resonate with media, donors, regulators, and community partners, • Support social media and campaign messaging with verified, high-value data that ties CRF’s outcomes to broader community needs Other Requirements [including physical demands]: • Contributes to the overall success of the organization by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or designee, and being able to pivot with ever-changing priorities and newly added job-related responsibilities that arise based on business changes, needs, and demands, • May be required to work long hours and a varied schedule, • Traveling throughout various locations in the New York City area, • Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 30 pounds several times a week, • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions EEO Statement – Children’s Rescue Fund is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
